Our three self-catering holiday cottages, Chestnut, Maple and Cherry each sleeping four, are situated in quiet countryside close to the historic, National Trust village of Lacock and about 12 miles from the World Heritage City of Bath.
Located in the grounds of our own barn, the recently built, architecturally designed barn cottages feature exposed oak beams and a galleried upper bedroom.
Each holiday cottage is modern and tastefully furnished with
its own small patio area. Barn Cottages at Lacock are ideally situated to
explore the Cotswolds, Stonehenge and Avebury or visit Longleat, Malmesbury,
Corsham or Bradford-on-Avon.
Excellent transport links by road and train from Chippenham to Oxford, London,
Salisbury, Bristol and Bath make Barn Cottages at Lacock a perfect location for
visitors looking for a
vacation rental base.
Each cottage has a tiled, open plan kitchen, living and dining
area with exposed oak beams giving a light and airy feel. There are French
doors at the front of each, opening out on to a small patio area with garden
furniture and barbecue.
The Shaker style kitchens are well equipped and have electric cooker with oven,
dishwasher and microwave.
Each has a double bedroom downstairs with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space,
and a shower room with wash basin and WC. Ladder stairs lead to a mezzanine
galleried twin-bedded room with a wooden floor.
This is not suitable for unsupervised young children but older children love it.
Chestnut Cottage has a further set of French windows in a glazed wall to
the side which opens out on to a small seating area with a garden view .
The cottages share a separate utility room containing a washing machine, tumble
dryer and freezer . All heating ,electricity and hot water is included in
the tariff as is all bed linen, towels and tea-towels.
We are perfectly situated for many different activities and places to visit, wet or dry, young or old, at any time of the year. We are within a short drive of Lacock, within easy reach of three World Heritage Sites, including Bath, and well placed for touring the rest of Wiltshire and the Cotswolds. It is even possible to go to London for the day. There are many country pubs and restaurants nearby and the area is blessed with lovely walks and cycling. The cottages contain comprehensive information on activities and local amenities and we are always delighted to help you in offering advice based on our own experiences.
