Pear Tree Cottage - This charming self-catering holiday cottage is ideal for couples and their pets and set on the edge of a peaceful rural village within the beautiful Vale of Glamorgan Heritage Coast in South Wales. The delightful property is just a few hundred yards from the sea and historic Nash Point lighthouses. Pear Tree Cottage is also within walking distance of the friendly and well regarded local Inn.
Pear Tree Cottage offers spacious accommodation with its own enclosed private garden. Forming part of the ground floor of the owners detached smallholding home yet completely self-contained, it provides an ideal base for exploring the local unspoilt, un-crowded landscape as well as the numerous sights and attractions further a field.

The nearby Coastal Path offers superb scenery from dramatic cliffs to rolling sand dunes and the area's winding country lanes provide ideal walking and cycling terrain.
There are numerous small villages to explore in this very rural area yet the Welsh capital, Cardiff is only a 25 minutes drive away. The nearest town, Llantwit Major with several small shops, pubs, restaurants, services, banks, and supermarkets, is within a four mile drive/bus ride. Karting, paint balling, golf, fishing and horse riding can be found locally as well as an Arts Centre in nearby St. Donats Castle. The village is served by a bus route that connects to other routes and trains at Bridgend and Llantwit Major. Trains to Cardiff from Llantwit Major run hourly.

The Glamorgan Heritage Coast is characterised by its beautiful and diverse beaches with rolling surf; quaint villages and fascinating towns; spectacular cliffs with fantastic views, ancient castles and unique history. It is the most southerly point in Wales and gets more sunshine hours per year than Northern Italy.

Located in the heart of the Heritage Coast, Marcross is a rural community set inland but only a short walk from the sea.

The spacious holiday accommodation is approached via a level concrete path from the off road parking area. The front door leads into the conservatory. In addition to providing a  dining area, this room is perfect for relaxing with a book or just letting your thoughts unwind. The windows look over your own lawned garden that contains hardwood furniture and portable BBQ. The garden is bordered by walls and hedges and is dog-proof and private.  The conservatory leads into the kitchen. If you are feeling particularly industrious there is ample equipment  and worktop space to produce a full “Sunday lunch” Appliances include a toaster, kettle,  fridge, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine/dryer and an electric oven and hob. Leading off the Kitchen in an L shape is the comfortable living room. There is an electric “wood burner” that enhances the atmosphere. For your entertainment there is a radio/ cassette/CD player, a satellite Television and a DVD player. There is also a small collection of books and some CDs and DVD's. From either of the two windows you can see horses, sheep and cattle grazing in the adjoining fields. You may even see a fox, hare, heron, kestrel, goldfinch, or any one of the number of wild life species we have in the area. From the living room, through an inner hall you will find the tastefully decorated bedroom with its double bed. The window to the front looks over a garden to the quiet road beyond where you will often see a herd of cows travelling to and from their twice daily milking routine. Next to the bedroom is the large bathroom with its bath, WC, wash-hand basin and separate shower cubicle.
The cottage is centrally heated.
