Duffryn Mawr Self Catering Holiday Cottages, Pendoylan, Cowbridge, Vale of Glamorgan.
Are situated in a beautiful valley in the stunning Vale of Glamorgan. Set in the
pretty grounds of a family home. They are ideally located just a couple of miles
from Cardiff, Cowbridge, Cardiff Airport and just off junction 34 of the M4.
Our cottages offer comfortable and affordable
accommodation
in a peaceful, private, rural location. Two of the cottages have been
sympathetically converted from a pretty stone farm building and the studio flat,
a spacious renovated loft space. The accommodation is all light and airy with
ample safe parking and all have their own patio areas for alfresco dining and
sun bathing.
In the other direction is the village of Peterston Super Ely where the lovely
Sportsmans Rest pub offers great pub grub and a lovely country atmosphere. A
must is a stop in the Wild Fig Farm shop that boasts a delicious array of
goodies.
The heart of the countryside yet close to city, coast and road networks. Come

The Loft is a bright airy and spacious studio apartment with stunning views over
the Peterston Moors and beyond towards Cardiff and in the other direction
towards Llantrisant.
The accommodation comprises a large double bedroom with full length door with
Juliette balcony overlooking the gardens. The living room is open plan with the
kitchen and has a large sofa and a double sofa bed for extra occupancy. A TV/DVD
and freeview are provided.
The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, oven/hob, microwave, toaster, kettle
and cafetiere.
Downstairs is the bathroom with overhead shower. Under the stairs is the washing
machine . A hair dryer and ironing facilities are provided
Just outside is a small private patio area with table and chairs and a safe
parking space just outside.
Kingfisher Cottage has been carefully converted to provide a double bedroom and
a twin bedroom.
Entered via a communal hall, up two small steps and into the internal front
door.
The bathroom has a bath and overhead shower.
The living room is open plan to the kitchen and has two double sofas (both sofa
beds) and TV/DVD and free view.
The kitchen is fully equipped with washer/dryer, oven/hob, microwave, toaster,
kettle and cafetiere. A hair dryer and ironing facilities are provided
Outside there is a courtyard and ample parking with a patio area with table and
chairs.
Swallow Cottage is our smaller, cosy cottage converted from
the stone barn. It has one double bedroom and a bathroom with overhead shower.
The living area is open plan with the kitchen and a TV/DVD is provided along
with a CD player. The kitchen is fully equipped as Kingfisher Cottage. Again,
outside is a patio area with table and chairs and ample parking. A hair dryer
and ironing facilities are provided.
Both the cottages have been sympathetically converted from a pretty stone farm
building and are set on the edge of a quiet country lane with pretty fields and
hedgerows surrounding.
Superbly situated Duffryn Mawr is located a couple of miles off Junction 34 of
the M4 offering excellent access to Cardiff and Mid and West Wales.
Roughly 8 miles way is the bustling, dynamic and sophisticated City of Cardiff.
Full of fine restaurants, pubs and nightlife, extensive shopping and an
abundance of history and culture. Cardiff Waterfront is a must once you have
exhausted the City Centre. A water taxi is available to offer you a pleasant
break from City to Waterfront.
Heading west for a few miles is the historical Roman market town of Cowbridge
which is bursting with designer clothes shops, gifts and much, much more. It
also boasts a diverse choice of restaurants, olde pubs and coffee houses.
The beautiful unspoilt Heritage Coast is a few miles away with superb walks and
scenery. Just 15 minutes drive will bring you to the sand dune system of Merthyr
Mawr which stretches all the way to Porthcawl, the beautiful Ogmore Estuary and
beach. Horse riding of all standards is available here and is a must but booking
is advised.
There are an abundance of castles in Wales including Castell Coch, Caerphilly
Castle and Cardiff Castle being just on our doorstep and a real must is the
Museum of Welsh life at St Fagans Castle.
For golf enthusiasts take your pick from The Vale Golf and Country Resort, The
Royal Porthcawl Links course, The Celtic Manor – home to the 2010 Ryder Cup-
Cottrell Park, and the Rolls of Monmouth to name but a few and all a short drive
away.
For horse racing enthusiasts Chepstow and Cheltenham race courses are easily
accessible and Carmarthen is now home to our excellent new course 'Ffos Las'.
Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan is so diverse with activities, sites and
interests you will be coming back for more.
