Bejowan, Buller and Popham cottages are tucked away in a quiet country lane surrounded by open countryside on the dramatic north coast of Cornwall. These three spacious, luxury cottages are an idyllic setting for a holiday in the heart of unspoilt countryside, ideal for golden sandy beaches, wild and rugged coastal walks, and fabulous sunsets. Each beautifully appointed and equipped cottage has its own unique character and vistas across the neighbouring fields towards Gull Rock and the Atlantic Ocean. Only a short drive from Cubert, a pretty, bustling little village, and close to Holywell Bay's glorious beach which can be approached by road, or, more dramatically, across the sand dunes owned by the National Trust, providing a wonderful walk in high summer or in the blustery out-of-season months! The coast path is within easy reach as are numerous walks that take in the dramatic coastline, and the tranquil beauty of Cubert Common and the surrounding villages. Several good pubs are within a short drive to either Cubert or Crantock village or Newquay with its historic harbour, famous surfing beaches, excellent restaurants and numerous shops is only 4 miles away.

The cottages are ideally situated to explore beautiful and inspirational Cornwall, away from the coast and its awesome cliffs, thundering surf and spray you'll find pretty rural villages, lush river valleys and wild gorse covered heathland.

 

Explore Cornwall's heritage from tin mines to picturesque fishing villages and ancient stone monuments. Wayside crosses and holy wells are reminders that the Cornish are true Celts. Discover tales of piracy and smuggling and explore Cornwall's past in lonely engine houses, great manor houses and castles.

Cornwall is also famous for its artistic and cultural heritage - poets and writers in earlier times such as Dickens, Tennyson and Hardy made the pilgrimage and later Sir John Betjeman, Winston Graham and Rosamunde Pilcher. Artists such as Barbara Hepworth and Bernard Leach found inspiration here too. A wealth of music dance can be found at events and festivals throughout the year as well as in pubs and parks, on quaysides and cliff tops. Visit the Tate Gallery at St. Ives and the famous open air Minack Theatre at Porthcurno.

Cornwall's climate makes it the home of fabulous sub-tropical gardens and a visit to one of them is a must, Trebah, Glendurgan or Tresco Abbey on the Isles of Scilly. The famous Lost Gardens at Heligan and the now internationally renowned Eden project. Enjoy a break in the spring to see some Cornish spring gardens at their very best as well as enjoy the mild weather that brings out the fabulous Cornish daffodils in every roadside verge and hedge.

 

Cornwall also boasts a wealth of National Trust and English Heritage properties to discover and explore as well as almost every type of visitor attraction you can think of from working farms, steam railways, fun parks, animal sanctuaries, and more. Water sports lovers will revel in the choice of activities that can be found, surfing, body boarding, kite surfing, canoeing, and water-skiing, or simply messing about in boats. Day trips to the Isles of Scilly or just a coastal excursion to see the seals and dolphins will delight the whole family.

No holiday would be complete without tucking into to some traditional Cornish fare, the seas around Cornwall are amongst the cleanest in Europe and fish served up in the evening may well have been caught that same morning, so whether you're enjoying a gourmet meal in a top restaurant or tucking into fish and chips you'll be sure the seafood will be unbeatable. Cornish pasties from little village bakeries and mounds of golden clotted cream on a scone will test your will power. Local breweries will also tempt you with Cornish ales and cider, and don't forget to try traditional saffron cake and clotted cream fudge

Buller Cottage is an end of terrace cottage built as an extension to its neighbour Bejowan Cottage has partly reversed accommodation encompassing views of the garden and glimpses of Gull Rock at Holywell Bay.

Tucked behind its own white picket fence with adjacent ample parking area Buller Cottage is both spacious and cosy and amply accommodates a family of 6 + cot.

The front door opens into the spacious light and airy traditionally furnished dining-area which adjoining the well-equipped modern kitchen allowing the cook to join in all the activities around the dining table. The attractive modern kitchen includes all the expected amenities including a dishwasher, washing machine and microwave oven in addition to plenty of space to cater for the family.

 


On the ground floor through a door to the left of the dining area are two spacious pretty bedrooms with twin beds and the main bathroom.

Stairs leading up from the dining area take you to the relaxed and warm atmosphere of the sitting room, furnished with antiques and large comfortable sofas. Patio doors lead out onto wooden decking which overlooks the large garden to the side of the house. Approached through the sitting room is the light and spacious master bedroom, with its spectacular antique bedstead and furniture, leading from this pretty room is the en suite bathroom.

Once discovered, Buller Cottage will become a firm family favourite. For those families wishing to holiday together, a connecting passageway can join Buller and Bejowan Cottage together providing accommodation for up to 12 + cots.

Bejowan Cottage nestles between Popham Cottage and Buller Cottage and although totally private, for those larger parties wishing to holiday together there is a useful passageway connecting Bejowan and Buller Cottage. Ample off-road parking is provided in an enclosed grassy area situate adjacent to the front of Buller Cottage.

Approached from the enclosed sunny front garden, guests step into the attractively furnished sitting/dining-room with its beamed ceiling and a warming wood-burner housed in a large granite fireplace. This delightful room overlooks the garden, with its unusual extra feature of the original water pump that served the cottages many years ago.

Spacious and delightful Bejowan Cottage will accommodate all the family with ease.

Leading of the sitting room is the well-planned light and spacious kitchen, which includes all the expected amenities, including a dishwasher, washing machine and microwave oven in addition to plenty of space to cater for the family.

Also leading off the sitting/dining-room is the main family bathroom.

Upstairs, all the bedrooms overlook the garden and have been furnished with antique bedsteads and pretty fabrics. The cosy master bedroom has an en suite bathroom.

Popham Cottage accommodates 4 + cot and occupies a very private end of terrace location with its own delightful small garden to the front and a large sunny, raised, enclosed garden to the rear. Off-road parking is provided immediately adjacent to the cottage and rear garden

Through a porch entrance guests step into a traditionally furnished and beautifully decorated dining area which leads to the spacious modern kitchen which includes all the expected amenities, including a dishwasher, and microwave oven. These two adjoining warm and sunny areas act as the focal point to this enchanting cottage, whilst the welcoming sitting room provides a cosy hideaway to the left of the dining area.

From the kitchen a sunny sitting area, with convenient open serving hatch from the kitchen, gives access to patio doors to the rear garden and also to a ground floor toilet, shower and utility room with washing machine.

Upstairs, as well as the spacious bathroom there are two prettily furnished bedrooms, with the twin bedded room having views across the pretty front garden to the surrounding countryside and the master bedroom boasting a four-poster bed and vistas across the fields towards Gull Rock and the Atlantic Ocean.
