Harrold is a picturesque village, with a village green, (complete with lock-up and butter market) at its heart. At the eastern side there is a country park, which is popular with walkers and bird watchers
Harrold is well served with three pubs, (all supplying good food), a Post Office with general stores, a garage, a butchers shop, a hairdressers shop and an electrical retailer.
Olney, an attractive market town, is only 5 miles away and has several restaurants and take-away establishments. Nearby Pavenham has a golf course and there is horse riding in the vicinity. Clay pigeon shooting at one of the best layouts in the country can be arranged.
Harrold is handily situated near the business centres of Northampton, Bedford and Milton Keynes. There are good connections for the M1, A1 and mainline train stations. London is only 1 hour away by train from Bedford. There is a local bus service to Bedford, but it is not very frequent and so a car enables you to make the most of your stay.
