The closest bay to the farm is called Pwll du (Black Pool, a natural sheltered cove, which when the sea is still, looks like a deep dark pool). It is a 5 minute walk away and it is pictured in the top left photo. In Summer, there is golden sand along the beach and from Monday to Friday, the beach is extremely quiet as there is no parking for the general public within the nearby area.
In the Winter, it makes for a lovely walk across the beach and up to Bishopston, where you can sample the local bitters brewed on the premises of The Joiners Arms. Across the road is another pub called the Valley, which is well known for its delicious home cooked food. These pubs can be reached by the beach walk or the Bishopston valley walk and can be done in a circular walk as well.
You can also walk to Caswell enjoying spectacular sea views from the cliff path along the way. At the beach there is an excellent cafe called Surfside which has panoramic views of the sea. It is ideal for breakfast on a Sunday as they do a fabulous breakfast Panini.
The views from Pennard Castle and the area around Three Cliffs Bay are spectacular. From the coffee shop in Pennard (renowned for its delicious range of homemade cakes) you can walk to Pobbles, a popular yet secluded beach. Pobbles is surrounded by limestone cliffs and sand dunes and on a clear day you can see right to the end of Oxwich Bay. It’s a reasonable walk of about 20-30 minutes.
