It is within easy reach of Gatwick, London can be reached in about an hour by train, and there are a host of Sussex and Kent visitor attractions within easy reach, including the Brighton Pavilion and the Bluebell Railway. Wadhurst village is a short walk away with an excellent variety of shops.

Bewl Water offers boat rides, cycle hire, and taster courses in a variety of water sports. There are several excellent golf courses in the area, as well as clay pigeon shooting and several fishing lakes. Sea fishing is available at Brighton.
