West Horsley is a village well suited to people looking to be based within easy commuting distance of London.

There are excellent road links with the A3 and M25 as well as a good train service to London Waterloo (40 minutes).  Heathrow and Gatwick airports are approximately 30 minute drive.

Horsley expanded with the coming of the railway and in the 1930's many character properties were built by  the architect Chown, offering solidly built houses with features such as Oak joinery, Inglenook fireplaces and fine character elevations.  Many of the homes have private road access and set in lovely woodlands.

For people who enjoy country life but like to be within easy reach of London then West Horsley is very hard to beat.

There is excellent local village shopping with other towns like Guildford and Leatherhead within easy reach.
The village of West Horsley is surrounded by "Green Belt" land, much of it belonging to The National Trust and the Forestry Commission.

RHS Wisley is Britain’s best loved garden with 240 acres offering a fascinating blend of the beautiful with practical and innovative design and cultivation techniques. Plus it is only 15 minutes drive away.

For many, it is the beauty and tranquillity of the garden that captures the imagination, with its richly planted borders, luscious rose gardens and model gardens, but a closer look reveals the real value of Wisley.

Other places of interest to visit are:
Hatchlands Park built in 1758 for Admiral Edward Boscawen and set in a beautiful Repton Park offering a variety of park and woodland walks.  Clandon Park is a grand Palladian Mansion built in the 1730's by the Venetian architect Leoni.  Other interesting places to visit are  Claremont House in Esher and Sutton Place Guildford.
