Thatcher's Cottage, Laxfield, Suffolk
Thatcher's Cottage
This delightful, period thatched cottage
provides ideal accommodation to discover Suffolk and Norfolk, it is the perfect
rural base to explore the unspoilt countryside and beautiful coastline.
Thatcher's Cottage was built in 1594, and is a quintessential thatched cottage
in North Suffolk, 20 minutes from the Heritage Coast. This Grade II listed house
is set in large gardens, with open rural views and big Suffolk skies.
The detached, country cottage has been recently renovated by local craftsmen and
is tastefully furnished with antiques and period pieces. The charm of a bygone
age blends seamlessly with all the comforts of modern living in this traditional
English country cottage. We are proud to offer high quality self catering

the Norfolk Broads.
The holiday cottage is ideally located, just 1 hour's drive from Stansted
Airport. It provides the perfect base for exploring the many and varied delights
of Suffolk and Norfolk -from good cycling and walking to Constable Country and
the Norfolk Broads, historic castles and the Heritage Coast, we have something
for everyone. Call us now and start planning your holiday in Suffolk - peace,
quiet, fresh air and glorious sunsets are closer than you think.
The outlook from the cottage across the
open countryside has changed little over the centuries and glorious sunsets are
on show whatever the season.
The cottage is set in 1/3 of an acre with open rural views, making the sunroom
at the back of the house the perfect place for breakfast on a sunny morning,
with lovely views of the garden and fields beyond.
The sunny patio provides the ideal spot for lunch in the garden.
Garden furniture, BBQ and sun loungers are provided.
The cottage is set in the beautiful Suffolk countryside in a
small hamlet.
Laxfield village is just 1.5miles from the cottage, there is a good cycle route
and a great walk across the fields - perfect to work up an appetite for lunch at
one of the two village pubs.
Our personal favourite, The King's Head (or 'Low House' as it is known locally)
is Egon Ronay recommended, it has great food and a lovely garden.
The village also has a convenience store, which is open 7 days a
week, a post office and a garage (which sells just about everything!).
A larger variety of shops, pubs and supermarkets are offered by the nearby
market towns of Halesworth and Framlingham.
