Blaize Barn and Lady Cottage are luxury 5 star self catering cottages in the heart of Lavenham, Suffolk. Lady Cottage sleeps 2, Blaize Barn comfortably sleeps 4 but is also popular for 2.

Lavenham is a stunning mediaeval village in the heart of the Suffolk countryside. Both cottages are within a 2 minute walk of excellent pubs, restaurants and village shops. There are over 200 listed buildings in the village, including Blaize Barn and Lady Cottage.

Short breaks are a speciality and are particularly popular in the winter months when the real fires, luxury furnishings, SKY TV, local walks and excellent local restaurants and pubs are key features.

Blaize Barn has one of its two bedrooms and the bathroom on the ground floor. We welcome enquiries about its suitability for guests with limited mobility.

Much of Lavenham's mediaeval wealth was based on the wool trade. Many of the villages 200 or so listed buildings, including the church and the Guildhall
(a National Trust property) date from this time.

The village now has an excellent blend of beautiful historical buildings and facilities for visitors. There are excellent pubs, restaurants and antique shops, as well as shops to meet most requirements. All of these are within 2 minutes walk of both cottages.

Lavenham is well situated for exploring the Suffolk countryside including Constable Country, Bury St Edmunds, the Suffolk Coast, local National Trust properties and several beautiful gardens. Cambridge and Newmarket are less than an hours drive.

Blaize Barn was originally converted to a dwelling in the early part of the 20th century but has now been fully restored and the facilities modernized:

The furnishings and fittings in Blaize Barn are to a very high standard. As a result we have a no smoking policy and charge a security deposit. Please consult us if you want to bring children under 14. Sorry no pets.

The loft bedroom is accessed by a steep staircase and may not suit less mobile guests.

Lady Cottage is on Lady Street in the heart of the village, just off the Market Place.

Lady Cottage was renovated in the late 90's and further updated in 2004. It is part of a mediaeval hall house and combines many original features with modern facilities:

Parking at Lady Cottage is on Lady St. Since this is in the heart of the village, this can sometimes require parking up to 50 yards away, there are no yellow lines
