The Barn at Ryecroft; an idyllic rural hideaway in a unique Stable and Hay Barn conversion, one mile from the village of Richards Castle and 10 minutes drive from Ludlow, Shropshire's gastronomic capital.

This 4 star self catering get-away has original solid pine beams, a wood burning stove, private garden and stunning panoramic views. Short breaks are available as well as weekly stays.

The Barn stands at the end of a leafy private drive and is ideally situated for exploring Shropshire and Herefordshire. Richards Castle is located half in one county and half in the other! Ludlow, Church Stretton, Leominster, Hay on Wye and the Welsh Borders to the Radnor Hills are all easily accessible. Shrewsbury and the World Heritage Site of Ironbridge are only a day trip away too.

If you like walking you can literally step through the entrance hall and out of the Barn's stable door into scenic countryside. The Barn is close to the Mortimer Forest and you can walk the Mortimer Trail, following ridge and valley between Ludlow and Kington. If you are interested in exploring the nearby trail routes, we are happy to assist ferrying you along any points of the Trail.

Should you need it, we are only a stone's throw away to offer friendly advice on making the most of your stay.

The Barn at Ryecroft sleeps up to 4, in 2 cosy bedrooms. The main bedroom has a double bed and the second has a 4ft bed (providing ample space) with a single sleeping platform above.

The sitting room and kitchen is open plan and furnished with a comfortable three piece suite and all the modern amenities you would expect, including colour TV and DVD player, washing machine, fridge, microwave and electric cooker.

Large glazed doors open onto a spacious deck area surrounded by mature trees; ideal for eating out, making the most of the amply stocked bookcase or just listening to the birds. Recent visitors on a 3 night break recorded 20 different bird varieties! Occasional Roe deer have also been sighted in fields behind the Barn, as well as foxes, badgers, squirrels and rabbits galore. Some locals have also seen polecats!
