We offer high quality self catering holiday accommodation for every need…our courtyard Ivy and Maple cottages are for couples or groups holidaying together and all bedrooms have private facilities.
We are surrounded by great walking country and have our own exclusive fishing in the farm’s well stocked pools.
The most mature pool is brimming with quality carp. whilst the smaller one has no carp but an abundance of roach, rudd, tench, bream and perch.
Another pool is on a higher level and commands wonderful views over the South Shropshire and Stiperstone Hills. This pool offers Bream together with some very nice carp. There is a car park in close proximity to these pools.
Our original stock pool has been open for fishing since April 2005 and is proving to be very popular - with fish up to 22lbs being caught recently. Although the remaining pool is at the far end of the farm and is the smallest, it is well worth a visit. Parking is close by and you are rewarded with superb fishing in the most peaceful perfect situation sheltered by surrounding trees with only the occasional pheasant or rabbit for company. It is never crowded at this well kept fishery and our bailiffs have fished the waters for many years and are ready with help and advice if you need it.
Ryton is a quiet hamlet 1 mile east of Dorrington which lies on the A49, 6 miles south of Shrewsbury. There are outstanding views over the South Shropshire Hills which are 4 miles away.
Our cottages are comfortable, nicely furnished, and our house keeping is of a very high standard - just what you need to enjoy holidays on a farm.
Two person cottages have a choice of double or twin bedded bedrooms, and four person cottages have a double and a twin bedroom with private facilities, which are ideal for couples holidaying together - these cottages are in our courtyard. All have open plan living/dining rooms with well-equipped kitchens and ample parking.
Some two bedroomed cottages are single storey, ideal for visitors who find stairs a problem.
Walking in Shropshire satisfies all tastes - long hikes, short strolls, hill walks, river valley, canal, moorland or mere walks, alone, with family or friends the diverse scenery of our county will not fail to please you.
There is no problem finding a nice quiet picnic spot, or you might like to sample the friendly hospitality and excellent food of our country pubs, cafes and tea shops.
Each of our cottages has a modern fitted kitchen, with plenty of china, cutlery and cooking utensils for the number of people that it accommodates. Cookers are four ringed electric, with good sized ovens and grills. All have fitted carpets throughout.
Every property has ample private parking space.
All cottages have electric heating throughout and payment is by £1 coin meter.
If required beds are made up ready for your arrival, with cotton/polyester sheets and duvets. Fresh bed linen is available at weekends for visitors planning to stay longer than one week.
Towels and tea towels are available at £1.50 per set (pay on arrival).
There is a colour television in every cottage.
Some cottages can accommodate an extra person by request at £25 per week (linen included).
A service wash/dry can be arranged if required.
We regret that messages can only be taken in emergencies.
Will be charged for.
If you find that you have any unexpected weeks free, it is worth enquiring if we have any vacancies. We sometimes can discount late bookings.
Arrival & Departure:Cottages are ready for occupation from 3.30pm and must be vacated by 10.00am on the day of departure. Please do not arrive early, as we need time to clean the cottages thoroughly between lets.
As guests are liable for their holiday costs in full, a cancellation insurance might be advisable. Details can be supplied on request.
for our pools are available from the Farm Office on your arrival. Severn Trent Region - NRA Laws apply - please see our fishing page for information or ask for details. We reserve the right to close pools.
Well behaved pets are welcome (pay on arrival).
