Gilfach Farm Cottages are located on the outskirts of the small village of Whitton, near Presteigne, Powys.

Positioned in the stunning countryside on the Welsh side of the borderland between England and Wales known as the Welsh Marches.

The cottages lie nestled into the hillside, adjacent to the Offa's Dyke path, with a breathtaking view of the Lugg Valley.

With many activities and beautiful hills in which to walk right on your doorstep, Gilfach Farm Cottages provide an excellent location to spend your holiday.

Gilfach Farm Cottages are located on a working sheep farm. Tractor work is minimal,   therefore making it a safe and noise free environment. The busiest time will be during the lambing season in April when visitors are quite welcome to come and have a look.

Gilfach Granary - This former granary has been converted to a particularly high specification which meet the Welsh Tourist Board 5 Star rating. The property has exposed beams and stone walls and has been beautifully furnished with high quality fittings throughout.

The kitchen is well equipped with dishwasher, fridge and microwave, leading to a useful utility room with a washer/drier. Next to the kitchen is a large cloakroom with shower and toilet. The open plan lounge and dining room has oak flooring with an electric wood burner, television and DVD and commands a spectacular view across the Lugg Valley.

Upstairs, bedroom 1 is a double with ensuite shower room and built in wardrobes, bedroom 2 is a twin with ensuite shower room and built in wardrobes and bedroom 3 is a double with ensuite bathroom and built in wardrobes.

There is a cot and fold up bed on request.

Downstairs has under floor heating and the upstairs has radiators.

French windows lead onto the patio area with garden furniture and barbeque. The gardens are landscaped with a lawned area and ample parking, all within a fenced space which makes is very child friendly.

Gilfach Barn - A tastefully converted Barn with exposed beams, furnished to a high standard which meet the Welsh Tourist Board 5 Star rating.

Large entrance hall with galleried stairs leading to a twin bedroom with en-suite shower and toilet and built in wardrobes and a spacious double bedroom with built in wardrobes and a large family bathroom.

Upstairs is also the lounge with the entire one side in glass to take full advantage of the outstanding views.   Double doors open on to small balcony. Television and DVD.

Downstairs is a further bedroom with four poster bed and large en-suite shower and toilet, and built in wardrobes.

A cot and fold up bed are available on request.

A large open planned kitchen and dining room with dishwasher, microwave and fridge freezer. Large table and chairs. Just off the kitchen is a useful utility room with washing machine.

Downstairs is a cloakroom.

This property has central heating throughout.

The outside has ample parking, landscaped garden, lawn and patio, barbeque and garden furniture.

As early as the Iron Age, the Welsh Marches were in frequent conflict, and it was King Offa who tried to keep the rebellious Welsh at bay by building the first barricade along the borders called Offa's Dyke. Even after all these battles, the Welsh Marches remain an area of outstanding natural beauty, offering today's explorer numerous sites to experience, natural and man-made wonders.

Llangunllo A small hamlet situated 3 miles away.

Presteigne A small friendly town (once the county town of Radnorshire) situated 3 miles away. Recently voted among the top 10 towns in Great Britain. The recreation area has a large children's playground, tennis courts and a skateboard park. The Leisure centre has a swimming pool, sauna, gym and squash courts.

Kinsham A small hamlet situated 5 miles away.

Knighton A market town situated 3 miles away. It's Welsh name is Tref-y-Clawd - "The Town on the Dyke" indicating that Offa's Dyke actually passed through the town (in fact it is exactly half way along).

Pilleth and Cascob Small neighbouring hamlets both situated 2 miles away.
