PINESTONE COTTAGE
is a spacious and attractive stone and slate cottage that sleeps up to 4 and is
situated in a third of an acre with plenty of lawn area for children and dogs to
play. The cottage is situated in the owner’s
grounds but has the benefit of having a large, safe, private fenced garden.
The surrounding area is open fields which the cottage backs onto. The
first thing you will notice whilst sitting in the garden is the absolute peace
and quiet.
The property has an open
plan sitting room, fully equipped kitchen, dining area, bathroom and two
bedrooms (one double and one twin-bedded). The beamed sitting room is
comfortable, well decorated and has a television and video player (and a
selection videos). The fitted kitchen has a washing machine and microwave
as well as the usual kitchen equipment.
JACOBSTOW is a small village with easy access to the A39 .and the beaches of the North Cornwall Coast. It has attractive cottages and a 15th century church.
The village
is a splendid base for many spectacular walks including the North
Cornwall Coastal Footpath and treks across the wilds
of Bodmin Moor.
Nearby is the beautiful harbour at Boscastle,
the old fishing village of Port Isaac
and Tintagel, of King
Arthur fame. Along the coast to the North is Bude
with its expanse of sandy beaches, indoor leisure centre and lively small shops,
as well as large supermarkets.
Bude
is 7 miles with the local beach Crackington Haven a short 4
miles away, there is also a large sandy beach at Widemouth Bay
which is 5 miles away.
Wainhouse
Corner is where you
will find the local shop, General Post office and the local 18th century Inn
which is also a restaurant just 1 mile away.
Apart from walking and surfing, many other sports are available in the area. Tennis can be played just a short walk from the beach at Crackington Haven Tennis club. Further afield there are good golf courses at Bude, Holsworthy and Launceston, pony trekking and deep-sea fishing from Boscastle, Port Isaac and Padstow. Surfing, windsurfing and canoe instruction (day courses) can be booked at Widemouth Bay. Jacobstow really does offer a peaceful retreat and ideal location from which to explore including ventures to the great houses and gardens at Lanhydrock and Pencarrow together with the wonders of the Eden Project all being within one hours drive
| Boscastle | A truly lovely north coast harbour town with a 16th century quay and 14th century cottages clinging to the steep hillside. Thomas Hardy met his wife here whilst restoring a nearby church. There are some magnificent cliff top walks to take in the dramatic coastal scenery . The Museum of Witchcraft is situated near the harbour and houses the world's largest collection of witchcraft related artefacts and regalia. | ||
