Rose Cottage is a charming stone semi-detached cottage, looking onto Kirtlington village North Green. It was built in about 1700, with even older features. The interior has been modernised for comfortable living.
Kirtlington is an ancient and attractive village, ten miles north of Oxford. On the edge of the Cotswolds, the surrounding area is well known for its beautiful countryside and walks. One of the walks takes you to Pigeon Lock, on the Oxford Canal where you will often see narrow boats moored. Woodstock, with the famous Blenheim Palace is also nearby.
The beautiful city of Oxford is only 10 miles away. We will leave information about how to use the Park and Ride, or the bus service from Kirtlington to Oxford, and what's on in the city at the time of your stay.
Kirtlington Polo ground is 5-10 minutes walk away with fixtures from mid April to mid September.
Only 10 minutes from the M40 means easy access to London and other parts of the country. Bicester Village, with a vast array of factory outlets, is only 10-15 minutes drive away.
Kirtlington Golf Club, on the outskirts of the village, welcomes visitors.
Kirtlington boasts two excellent venues to eat out, the Oxford Arms which is a popular 'gastro pub', and the Dashwood Hotel restaurant.
Rose Cottage is suitable for a family or couples looking for a holiday in a village location, yet a place that still has easy access to local amenities. Business visitors may also find the proximity to Oxford and the M40 means that the location is excellent and a more economic alternative to a hotel.
Kirtlington is 10 miles from the City of Oxford and only 6 miles from the Cotswolds. The village has a local pub which serves excellent food, and a small hotel which has an acclaimed restaurant (why not treat yourself to breakfast there!) plus a popular village store with a Post Office and a new tea room.
The cottage is comfortably furnished and many character features still remain, such as wooden beams and an inglenook fireplace with an open fire. There is off road parking for one car and plenty of free roadside parking.
On the ground floor is a living room (with oak beams and inglenook open fireplace), dining room and kitchen. There is a small enclosed garden at the rear, with a patio, table and chairs and barbecue.
The cottage has three bedrooms on the upper floor, and can sleep five people in one bedroom with two single beds, one double bedroom and one single bedroom. There are two recently re-furbished bathrooms, one en suite to the double bedroom.
Fuel costs are included (other than fire wood) and there is free wireless internet connection.
There is a telephone which accepts incoming calls only.
