benefits from having 6 bedrooms and sleeps up to 12 guests which makes it ideal
for large groups wanting to get together. Whether its a group of friends wanting
to explore unspoilt Northumberland, or big family gathering at Christmas,

Ancroft Manor is ideally located to explore so much of Northumberland. Berwick
upon Tweed, Holy Island, Bambrough, Seahouses, The Farne Islands, Alnwick
and The Cheviot Hills are all within easy reach of Ancroft. Add to that the
Scottish Borders and you have so much to explore and visit.
Ancroft Manor is a large and spacious six bedroom farmhouse dating back to the 1700's and has a four star rating. It is located in its own private grounds and benefits from oil fired central heating. There is ample private parking and two dogs are welcome. The house has a great character and a welcome feel combining old tradition with modern comforts. It is perfect for a family get together, group holiday or just you and your dog wanting to get away from it all!
The property comprises access from the back door to the main
long corridor leading to the Utility room, Cloakroom with WC, South facing large
kitchen with Aga, South facing TV / everyday room with large open fire and views
across the garden and fields. Through to main hall with attractive fireplace,
front door and stairs, South facing Dining room with large dining table to seat
12 and traditional fireplace, Drawing room with open fire and
seating for 12.
Upstairs to 6 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a en-suite shower room. The master double room gives access to a twin room with en-suite and makes for an excellent family room. With the remaining four bedrooms and two bathrooms all accessed from the main corridor. Two of the larger rooms are twins and two smaller rooms are cosy doubles. All well appointed and tastefully furnished.
We have tried to provide everything you might need and wish for during your stay and provide you with a warm and well equipped house that we hope you won't want to leave. The traditional farmhouse kitchen is well equipped to cater for large parties with a old 4 oven Aga and new electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge freezer and lots of storage and work tops. The TV room has a DVD player and free view while the drawing room has a selection of books and a CD player. There are some games and DVD’s available.
Upstairs we've tried to make the beds comfortable and warm so you have a good night’s sleep and the two bathrooms have large ceramic baths with hand showers so you can enjoy a good soak.
Outside there is a lockable outhouse to store all your equipment and the gas BBQ which is great alfresco dinning on the south facing sheltered patio. This overlooks a large grass area which is ideal for children playing and is safe and secure. You can close the gates onto the road which is recommended if you've got pets or young children.
All towels and linen are included. Aga is charged at £10/day and
must be booked and paid for in advance. We will make sure it is lit and up
to temperature for your arrival.
An initial supply of logs and coal will be supplied then charged at £15/bag of
coal and £25 for logs.
Dogs must remain on a lead at all times when walking on the farm and are not
allowed beyond the TV room when inside.
When you stay at Ancroft Manor you'll find yourself in the heart of Northumberland's beautiful countryside and so close to so many famous local attractions.
Like the market town of Berwick upon Tweed, Holy Island, Bamburgh Castle, Alnwick Castle and spectacular Gardens, Chillingham Castle and Floors Castle.
