Forester

Sheringham Cottages, Sheringham, Norfolk

Situated on the beautiful North Norfolk coast Sheringham is ideally placed to truly enjoy Norfolk at its best!

With good rail and road links to the rest of the county Sheringham is a superb base to enjoy either the scenic coastal regions or the beautiful rural and traditional towns and villages alike.

With Norwich only 25 miles by car or approximately 50 minutes of relaxing on the picturesque 'Bittern Line' rail link whatever you preference of holiday you are sure to be able to access it from this traditional and historic location.

We are extremely pleased to be able to offer you a choice of five beautiful and traditional self catering properties, all located within walking distance of the sea front, for you to use as a base whilst enjoying this fantastic county.

Augusta

Augusta Street is located in a quiet conservation area nestling between the town centre and the sea yet all shops, amenities and sea are but a few hundred metres away.

The house itself, which sleeps up to 6, was built around 1870 along with its two neighbours by three brothers from a fishing family and has changed little in appearance since that time.

The property benefits from extensive refurbishment and boast gas fired central heating and double glazing.

Lounge: With colour television, video recorder and three-piece suite, fireplace and a bay window overlooking the front garden and street.

Dining Room: Featuring dining table and six chairs plus under stair walk in cupboard, feature fireplace and window to the rear garden

Kitchen: Recently refurbished and featuring electric cooker, fridge with freezer compartment, washing machine, spin drier, dishwasher, microwave and toaster, plus large worktop area with cupboards under containing all crockery, pan etc. Rear door to entrance porch and garden.

Bathroom: Containing power shower over bath, separate shower, shaver point, WC and washbasin.

Twin Bedroom: featuring two single beds, washbasin, walk-in cupboard and dressing table.

Family Bedroom: Includes double bed and pine bunk beds plus dressing table, wardrobe, chest of draws and bedside cabinets and lamps.

Garden

To the rear of the property is a private garden laid to lawn with flower boarders and garden shed which is available for cycle storage plus rear access to Victoria Road, that leads to the beach some two minutes walk away. Patio table, chairs, and cushions are provided should you wish to relax in the garden.

The heating system is covered by British gas 3 star scheme ensuring a prompt response should you have a problem.


Bennett

Bennett was built in 1922 along with the house next door by a local family who have owned the house until last year when we were fortunate enough to acquire it.

Despite extensive modernisation Bennett has changed little in appearance since 1922, it still retains its early character but now contains gas fired central heating and double glazing throughout, providing a very comfortable, cosy holiday home, ideal for any time of year.

Bennet has off street parking available.

Entrance Hall: Spacious hallway providing plenty of coat hanging space and large under stairs cupboard for suitcases etc.

Large Lounge: Very comfortable large three piece suite, 28" colour television with video player and selection of pre-recorded tapes, impressive feature fireplace and bay window overlooking front garden.

Dining Room: Spaciously laid out with pine table and matching chairs seating eight, large original cupboards, window to rear and door to rear garden.

Kitchen: with washing machine, spin dryer, microwave and toaster, large fridge with separate freezing compartment, electric cooker with separate grill, plenty of worktops and cupboards containing all crockery and pans etc., views to rear garden.

Large Play Room: Containing sofa and table with a selection of games.

Toilet: with washbasin and mirror.

Bedroom 1: Located at the front is a very large room with original fireplace (decorative feature only) and bay window. Double bed with bedside cabinets and radio, dressing table and mirror, tall wardrobe with hanging space and drawers.

Bedroom 2: At the rear with views to the sea. A spacious room with original fireplace (decorative feature only) containing two single beds, dressing table with mirror and draws, wardrobe and washbasin with mirrored cupboard over.

Bedroom 3: Also at the rear with sea views, containing double bed with bedside cabinets, dressing table with mirror and draws, wardrobe.

Bedroom 4: At the front, this room has a bunk bed suitable for adults, wardrobe and dressing table.

Bathroom: Includes bath and electric power shower over, washbasin and electric shaver point, with bathroom cabinet over.

Large Landing: providing access with all first floor rooms.

Toilet.

Gardens

The front garden is laid to lawn with shrub borders. The rear garden is also laid to lawn with flower borders and large garden shed suitable for bicycle storage, a Patio set comprising eight chairs, large table and umbrella is available should you wish to relax in the garden. Rear gate provides access to Victoria Street a short cut to beach and town through one of the oldest parts of sheringham.

The heating system is covered by British gas 3 star scheme ensuring a prompt response should you have a problem.

Duncan

Duncan is located next to Bennett on the corner of Augusta and the Driftway, a small road leading to the fishermans slope.

Like Augusta and Bennett Duncan is also in a peaceful conservation area nestling between the town centre and sea, yet only a very short walk (a few hundred metres) from the beach, shops and all amenities.

It is hoped that Duncan will achieve a high rating when registered with the English Tourism Council. Duncan was only purchased in Christmas 2004 and despite recent modernisation still retains its early character from the early 1900’s. 

Duncan has off road parking.

Bedroom 1: Located at the front is a very large room with original fireplace (decorative feature only) and leaded bay window. Large 6ft bed can be unzipped to provide two 3 foot twins, with bedside cabinets and radio, dressing table and mirror, two tall wardrobes with hanging space and drawers.

Bedroom 2: Also at the front. A spacious room with original fireplace (decorative feature only) containing king size double bed, dressing table with mirror and draws, wardrobe and washbasin with mirror over.

Bedroom 3: At the side, childrens bunk bed with bedside cabinet.

Bathroom: Contains WC, bath and electric power shower over, washbasin and electric shaver point, with bathroom cabinet over.

Large Landing: Steep narrow staircase to second floor unsuitable for young children or elderly guests.

Bedroom 4: At the front, this room has two single beds, wardrobe, dressing table and tall draws.

At the front the garden is mainly paved with a large number of established shrubs. The rear garden is laid to lawn with flower borders and patio with large table, eight chairs and umbrella.
All rooms have radiators with thermostatic radiator valves allowing you to adjust the temperature in each room. Heating and water is by way of a gas boiler. The heating system is covered by British gas 3 star scheme ensuring a prompt response should you have a problem.

A cot high chair is available at a small extra charge, please order this at the time of booking.

Madge

This is a terraced cottage of flint construction with tiled roof. It is situated in the High Street, next but one to the Two Lifeboats Hotel which is on the Promenade and adjoining the beach.

The cottage probably dates from the early 1500s, making it among the oldest buildings in the town, all the features in the cottage are original, although the inner fireplace was constructed in Georgian times.

There are exposed brick and flint panels showing early building detail and beamed ceilings throughout. Please note that the cottage does not have a garden, but a small paved area at the rear accessed by French doors from the Kitchen.

Lounge: Lounge with large feature fireplace and beamed ceiling. Three piece suit and wall to wall carpet. Colour 28" windscreen TV. and video.

Foresters

Foresters was purchased in 2005 and is the latest addition to our properties in Augusta Street. It is located next door to Bennett in a peaceful conservation area between the Blue flag beach and the town centre. Like Bennett Foresters retains its early character but now contains gas fired central heating and secondary glazing throughout, providing a very comfortable, cosy holiday home, ideal for any time of year.

Foresters can be booked along with Bennett to provide extra accommodation for grandparents or extended family special rates would apply.

Foresters is a ground floor apartment ideal for families elderly guests and those with impaired mobility.

Entrance Hall: providing plenty of coat hanging space and under stairs cupboard for suitcases etc.

Large Lounge: Very comfortable settee and four individual armchairs, 28" colour television with video player/DVD, impressive feature fireplace and bay window overlooking front garden.

Kitchen/Dining Room: with washing machine, spin dryer, microwave and toaster, large fridge with separate freezer compartment, electric cooker with separate grill, plenty of worktops and cupboards containing all crockery and pans etc Table with six chairs, views to rear garden.

Bathroom: Includes bath and electric power shower over, washbasin and electric shaver point, with bathroom cabinet over WC.

Bedroom 1: At the rear with views to patio garden. Double bed with magazine storage, bedside cabinets and large mirrored wardrobe.

Family Bedroom: At the rear a very spacious room with double bed and bunk beds along with two wardrobes dressing table and bedside cabinets.

Rear Patio Garden: With large selection of plants, a patio set comprising six chairs, large table and umbrella is available should you wish to relax in the garden. Rear gate provides access to Victoria Street a short cut to beach and town through one of the oldest parts of Sheringham. A garden shed is provided which is ideal for cycle storage.
