The Cowshed - A beautiful holiday cottage set in the heart of the ancient village of Somersby, birthplace of Tennyson, in the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds. In 2008 the cottage underwent extensive restoration and refurbishment and is now available for holiday or short term rental use.
Somersby is a tranquil village in rolling countryside which lies in the Lincolnshire Wolds, which are a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, running from Louth in the north, to Horncastle in the south.

Somersby is famous as the birthplace of the Poet Laureate Alfred Tennyson where his father was the rector. After schooling in nearby Louth, he entered Trinity College in Cambridge. Tennyson later returned to live at Somersby rectory for six years after the death of his father before leaving for London where he continued to write memorable works such as Tithonus and Ulysses. The rectory is within a short distance of the cottage and Somersby church is immediately opposite.
