The Granary near Stamford is a spectacular modern self catering holiday cottage created from an ancient building (parts of which are believed to be 900 years old) lying 5 miles north of Stamford in the peaceful Lincolnshire village of Aunby. The accommodation is well laid out, spacious and light, it is comfortable and extremely warm, ideal in the bitter weather we are having! It contains 3 large double bedrooms (one of which is en-suite) and has a large family bathroom. Its main attraction though, is definitely the fantastically generous main living area which offers an extraordinary 50 feet of open plan living room - you will never feel cramped here! The Granary really is a special place to take a weekend break, or longer in the heart of England.
With its tranquil location in rolling countryside, lake views and light bright interior, the Granary is an ideal place to relax and enjoy the countryside or visit the many attractions close by. The closest of these being Stamford, the Georgian town described by Sir Walter Scott as ‘the finest scene between London and Edinburgh’ and widely regarded as one of the finest stone towns in Britain. The village of Aunby itself is also a delight, and is surrounded by wonderful walking country.
The property lies directly on a bridleway, providing ample opportunity to ride or walk out. There are fishing lakes within a five minute walk, and Rutland water and the Tallington Lake complex are all within easy access, as of course, is Burghley.
The stunning loft style holiday apartment centres on a 50 foot reception room containing a television, music centre, table tennis table, and table football, as well as seating and eating areas. The kitchen opens off the reception room and is fully equipped with electric oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge etc.
One double bedroom includes a ‘cot annex’ suitable for a cot or single bed, and the third bedroom contains a third pullout bed, making it possible for up to 7 people to be comfortably accommodated.
There is a terraced area at the rear of the property with barbeque and seating area. The apartment is fully centrally heated. It also benefits from almost unlimited parking.

The Granary may be rented on its own, or enlarged to incorporate Aunby Cottage, the holiday cottage that adjoins it. These two properties are adjacent to one another and, if they are to be taken together, have use of an interconnecting door.
