Our lovely 18th Century historic Stable Block was carefully restored in 2008 using natural eco-friendly materials and traditional methods. We now offer two units of quality self catering holiday accommodation which are warm and welcoming with exposed beams, lime washed walls and wood-burning stoves. Wooden floors or natural brick tiles are covered in braided wool rugs and recycled cotton mats. Fabrics are soft and natural and colours are warm and earthy.
Situated close to the Wolds, Coast and Fens in an area renowned for good walks, cycling, bird watching, golf, angling and the big outdoors. The Edwardian town of Woodhall Spa with its famous golf course and cinema and the historic city of Lincoln with its cathedral and castle are both only short drives away.
Your special welcome includes a trug full of specialities such as locally-made jam, cheeses and chutneys, plum loaf, organic chocolate, a bottle of wine made from apples from our orchard plus fresh garden vegetables. New for 2010 is the option of a pre-ordered first night meal of home-made roast vegetables, Lincolnshire sausages and freshly-baked bread. And from October 2010 we are also offering facial massage treatments using our own range of natural skin care products.
Courses and workshops are also offered at the Manor House Stables for those who wish to come for a day but they can also be included as part of your holiday (pre-booking essential). The choice is varied and includes rag-rug making, making jams and chutneys, baking scones, hand-made paper making, cookery, bread making, healthy eating, wood-turning, candle-making, herb gardening, barge folk art, making corn dollies, growing lavender, basket-making, making products from plant essential oils, and more.
Two units of self-catering accommodation which can be rented separately or together for weekly or shorter breaks away.
Both units are warm and welcoming with wood-burning stoves, exposed beams and lime-washed walls. Wooden floors or natural brick tiles are covered in braided wool rugs and recycled cotton mats. Fabrics are soft and natural and colours are warm and earthy. The luxury organic wool mattresses are covered in quality bedding and cotton quilts.
Welcome Hampers include locally home-made jam and a bottle of wine made from apples from our orchard. A basket of freshly collected vegetables from our organic garden, or purchased from the local farm shop, is also provided.
Each accommodation has a small private garden fenced off with hazel hurdles. A picnic table, barbeque set, bird-feeding table and basket swing make these gardens a 'rooms' to relax in.
