Hawthorn Farm Cottages
Lying in the delightful rural setting of Ware near Canterbury,
Kent. Surrounded by orchards, Hawthorn Farm comprises our home and four self
catering cottages. All our holiday cottages offer single storey accommodation
and sleep 4 / 5. Pilgrims cottage is suitable for disabled wheelchair users.
The terrace of three, Chaucer, Miller and Pilgrims cottages have been awarded 3
stars by the English Tourist Council and Friars cottage, which stands alone, has
received a 4 star rating.
Located between Canterbury (9 miles) a World Heritage site and
Sandwich (3 miles) said to be the best preserved medieval town in the country,
you will find we are conveniently situated to enjoy the many attractions and
places of interest that Kent offers. Equally, being 20/30 minutes from the
Channel ports and tunnel, a day in France can add to your holiday enjoyment.
With extensive walks on our doorstep (we are close to the Saxon Shore Way and
Stour Valley Walk) we welcome friendly dogs with well trained owners (see terms
and conditions)
Whether it's simple, rest and relaxation you are seeking or a
holiday exploring the Kent coast and countryside, Hawthorn Farm is the perfect
place to stay. Local shops, pubs and restaurants can be found in the pretty
village of Ash, 1 3/4 miles away and a wider range of shopping and leisure
facilities can be found in Sandwich and Canterbury. Our own free-range eggs and
local honey are always available. We are close to many golf courses including
the famous Royal St.George’s at Sandwich
Friars our newly converted and detached cottage has been built and equipped to a
high standard. Sleeping 4 in a double and a twin room it has an open plan lounge
diner with a separate kitchen.
The kitchen is fully equipped with full size cooker, fridge freezer,
washer/dryer and microwave oven.
The lounge includes TV/DVD and radio/CD player and there is an iron, ironing
board, vacuum cleaner and hairdryer.
There is a spacious bathroom with bath and electric shower. Linen and towels are
provided for the cottage, but guests are asked to bring their own beach towels.
The garden for Friars is opposite the cottage with picnic table, garden chairs
and parasol. BBQs are available on request.
There is parking immediately outside the cottage.
A cot, high chair, buggy and baby bath are available at no additional cost.

Pilgrims cottage our most spacious cottage sleeps 5 in two bedrooms one double
and one with three single beds. It has been adapted for wheelchair users but is
equally suited to families. It is the end of the terrace closest to the parking
area, which is only a few yards from the door and is centrally heated and double
glazed.
The accommodation has an open plan kitchen/diner/lounge and is comfortably
furnished. The kitchen is equipped with full size cooker, fridge with ice
compartment, and microwave oven. The lounge includes TV/DVD and radio/CD player
and there is an iron, ironing board, vacuum cleaner and hairdryer.
The cottage has a large wet room with electric shower. We have available a
shower chair, a raised toilet seat, and a walking aid. Linen and towels are
provided for the cottage, but guests are asked to bring their own beach towels.
There are grab rails beside the double bed, beside one of the single beds and in
the wet room. Sockets and light switches are at waist height.
The laundry room which contains a washing machine and tumble dryer is shared
between Pilgrims, Miller and Chaucer cottages. These are coin operated.
The garden is shared by the terrace with each cottage having its own picnic
table, garden chairs and parasol. BBQs are available on request.
A cot, high chair, buggy and baby bath are available at no additional cost.

twin room. It is centrally heated and double glazed.
