This combination makes historic Ramsgate a unique town for your self catering vacation in Kent. Sailing, golf, swimming, a 27 mile Viking Coastal Trail, sea safaris, seal encounters, museums, a sailors church, or even a ferry trip to Belgium are all daily pleasures to be enjoyed during your self catering holiday in Kent.

Enjoy

One of Britain’s highest sunshine rates, dozens of cafes, restaurants and pubs for all tastes and budgets and a beautiful harbour and marina mean whenever you stay at Harbour Cottage there will always be something interesting to do. Furthermore, it is surrounded by pretty towns and villages including neighbouring Broadstairs, famous for its association with Charles Dickens. Whenever you are seeking holiday accommodation in Kent, with so much to do and its wonderful surrounding countryside a self catering holiday in Ramsgate is truly value for money.

Harbour cottage is one of a row of picturesque, flint whitewashed cottages believed to be from the Regency or early Victorian period, dated around 1840. Set in a pretty and peaceful conservation area, the cottage benefits from being in a sought after location within Ramsgate. Guests further benefit from a free, private, recently landscaped parking space directly opposite the cottage.

Harbour cottage boasts many period features including an open log fire, original spiral staircase as well as modern luxury bathrooms, hi-specification fully equipped kitchen, central heating and TV with freeview in all bedrooms and the living room. Freshly laundered cotton towels are provided free of charge during your stay.

Just a few minutes stroll from the Royal Harbour, beach, shops, restaurants and tennis courts it is ideally situated and even has a Waitrose store under four minutes walk away. A sympathetic mix of traditional and contemporary décor incorporating some antique pieces of furniture, makes this attractive cottage a delight to stay in both summer and winter.

We are situated on the south-eastern tip of Kent, a unique location that affords us a more temperate climate than some other parts of the country.  Excellent road and rail links from London means that getting here is quick and easy, even the continent is just a hop across the Channel, as we are closer to France than our county town of Maidstone.

Ramsgate is one of three villages that make up the Isle of Thanet.  Whether you want to eat at an award winning Thai restaurant such as The Surin , venture on an exhilarating sea safari from Ramsgate Harbour or simply laze around on a golden blue flag award beach then Ramsgate is for you. A local cinema, leisure centre, museums, art galleries, a 27 mile Viking Coastal Trail, churches and fabulous shopping opportunities makes pretty Ramsgate one of the most diverse holiday destinations you could choose. Ramsgate Harbour has an annual agenda including a Powerboat Grand Prix!

Easy connections to Europe via the nearby Channel Tunnel make this even more exciting and you can take a daily ferry to Belgium! Don't forget to visit beautiful Canterbury or the medieval village of Sandwich either! Charles Dickens wrote many of his works in the next door village of Broadstairs whilst Margate is in the process of creating one of Britain's most impressive art centres named after JMW Turner who chose Thanet to paint many of his famous works.

Ramsgate and the Isle of Thanet are a perfect example of why British Seaside towns are becoming cool again, and at only 90 minutes drive from London, or an easy train ride, why not come and see for yourself!
