Dalmonds Barns
Located just out of the market town of
Hertford, our self catering holiday cottages are an ideal base for visiting
rural Hertfordshire and central London like.
Set in a conservation area, Dalmonds Barns are situated on a working farm
surrounded by fields and woodland, yet is only 30 minutes by rail from Central
London.
There are numerous opportunities for walking, cycling, bird watching and other pastimes such as fishing. Rye Meads RSPB and Lea Valley Park are just 5 minutes away.
The market town of Hertford is renowned for it's many and various eating establishments, and offers a wealth of child friendly country pubs serving excellent food.
The old barns have been thoughtfully converted into five holiday cottages, having a wealth of exposed beams and many original features. Comfort and convenience for our guests has been given high priority.
The cottages have tastefully furnished living rooms with a television and video. Each kitchen area is well-equipped with a dishwasher, washer/drier, microwave and fridge/freezer.
The spacious attractive bedrooms, with a choice of twin or double beds, have been designed for comfort and cater for individuals and family's alike. Travel cots are also available on request.
There is plenty of under-cover parking available, and there is a shared patio and barbeque area. Due to the structure of the buildings this accommodation is strictly NO SMOKING.
The Barns - Sunnybrooks
This cottage has two large bedrooms, each with
a fitted wardrobe, offering twin or double beds in each, and a family bathroom.
One bedroom has an en-suite shower, whilst the other is large enough for a
full-size folding bed.
Sunnybrooks living room is comfortably furnished with two settees, a dining
table and chairs and a television/video. The fully fitted kitchen area has a
full size hob and oven, microwave, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher and
washer/drier. It is fully equipped with all the cooking utensils and crockery.
The large windows overlook the grounds and the hall has an open division formed
by the original beams. A very attractive cottage.
The Barns - Badgers
Badgers has two large bedrooms, each with a
fitted wardrobe, offering twin or double beds in each, and a family bathroom.
One bedroom has an en-suite shower, whilst the other is large enough for a
full-size folding bed, making this unit suitable for up to five guests.
Badgers` living room is comfortably furnished with two settees, a dining table
and chairs and a television/video. The fully fitted kitchen area has a full size
hob and oven, microwave, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer/drier, and is
fully equipped with cooking utensils and crockery. Dogs may stay in this cottage
by arrangement.
The Barns - Hay Barn
This cottage boasts two bedrooms, one with a
double bed and half bathroom (toilet & wash basin), there is room for a folding
bed. The second bedroom can offer a double or twin beds and a fitted wardrobe.
The family bathroom has an over the bath shower. The living room is comfortably
furnished with two settees, a dining table and chairs and a television/video.
The fully fitted kitchen area has a full size hob and oven, microwave, large
fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer/drier, and is fully equipped with cooking
utensils and crockery.
The Hay Barn has a large dual aspect living room and is particularly suitable
for families with small children.
The Barns - Moat Cottage
Moat Cottage has a sloping low ceiling bedroom
in the old hay loft with a double bed and a single bed. There is an en-suite
shower room. The living room has a beamed ceiling and stairs leading to the
bedroom above.
The living room is comfortably furnished with an armchair and settee, a dining
table and chairs and a television/video. The fully fitted kitchen area has a
full size hob and oven, microwave, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher,
washer/drier, and is fully equipped with cooking utensils and crockery.
Hanging space is provided in the under-stairs cupboard. The windows in this
charming little cottage overlook the moat and surrounding fields.
The Barns - Apple Tree
Apple Tree Cottage is located across the road and opposite Dalmonds Barns. It has 1 bedroom with a king size or twin beds with an en-suite shower wet room.
Apple Tree's fully fitted kitchen has a dish washer, fridge freezer, washing machine, eye-level oven, hob and microwave, with use of a tumble dryer if requested, and is fully equipped with crockery and cooking utensils.
The comfortable living room is furnished with two settees, one being a high quality sofa bed. It also has a dining table with four chairs, and a television with DVD player.
This cottage has been converted for people with disability in mind. The doors are wheelchair width with easy to use taps, shower stool and toilet frame provided on request. Electricity sockets and switches are at easily accessible height, and there is a wheelchair access ramp up to the back door.
