The Bee House and The Hive are two adjoining cottages located in the garden of the owner’s 17th century Georgian house, outside the village of Bosbury. The cottages were originally a bee house before being tastefully converted; rest assured, there are no longer any bees on the property! However, you can purchase our Malvern Hills Honey to take home as gifts if you so desire!
The cottages are five miles from the picturesque market town of Ledbury, which is steeped in history. Malvern is 8 miles away and boasts a theatre, cinema and the famous Three Counties showground, which hosts many events throughout the year, including the annual Three Counties Show in June. Other towns nearby include Worcester, Hereford and Tewksbury which are each 18 miles away approximately; Cheltenham 30; Gloucester 23; The Cotswolds 39 and Stratford 41. There are also several National Trust properties that can be visited comfortably in a day.
There are excellent walks both locally from the cottages. Walking areas within a short distance include the Malvern Hills, which offer stunning views of the countryside, and the tranquil town of Upton-Upon-Severn. Further a field, 18 miles takes you to the River Wye and a splendid walk from Symonds Yat to Monmouth, picnicking on route. There are local golf courses, hire of the village tennis court, and other sporting activities for the energetic, or you can just relax in the garden of Nashend and enjoy the views from the cottages with a glass of wine and a good book! For those who like gardening there are many garden centres all within a twenty miles radius, and the famous Ballard Garden that specialise in Michaelmise Daisies in Colwall (just 3 miles). Eastnor Castle is well worth visiting and they host many big events such as a steam fair, activities for all the family, as well as a concert in the summer. You will be amazed at how much there is to do and will be spoilt for choice, perhaps having to return for another visit we hope! There is a local pub called The Bell in Bosbury just one mile, so within walking distance.
