Longwood Cottage is a wonderfully comfortable single-storey cottage set in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The sun deck overlooks glorious views of the Herefordshire countryside, and there is a large garden with easy car parking and adjacent woodland walks.
Longwood Cottage has been described as one of Herefordshire's hidden gems. Set in a total of thirty acres, with the owner's home a little way to the rear of the property, the cottage enjoys the most idyllic rural location. Views stretch in all directions. Long Wood itself is at the end of the drive and offers peaceful walks amongst its combination of conifers and ancient woodland. The wildlife includes a family of fallow deer, squirrels, foxes, as well as buzzards, kestrels, woodpeckers and pheasants.
Local shops, pubs, and numerous places to eat are only a few minutes drive away, and the cottage is ideally situated for visiting nearby Ledbury, Ross on Wye and Hereford, as well as the Wye Valley. The glorious countryside of north Herefordshire, the rolling hills of Wales, the Brecon Beacons, or Hay on Wye are approximately an hours drive away, as are the towns of Cheltenham Gloucester and Worcester.
The area is very popular with walkers, and there are many lovely outings to be had from the cottage without using your car. There are numerous golf courses nearby as well as horse riding in the Forest of Dean. The area has many houses, stately homes and places of interest to visit, and the cottage has an extensive range of tourist information and maps to help you.
Originally converted from an unused farm building, Longwood Cottage is warm and comfortably furnished.
There are two bedrooms, one with twin beds and the other with a double. Both bedrooms have plenty of storage space as well as windows facing in both directions making them light and airy. There is a cloakroom with toilet and wash hand basin, as well as a full bathroom with an electric shower set above the bath. This is truly a loo with a view! The sunny kitchen is fully fitted with a gas cooker, fridge, freezer and microwave. The sitting room has a sofa and three chairs with several occasional tables, a television, DVD player and small music system. There is a gas fire for cooler evenings. The dining area with it's dark oak table and four chairs is opposite the french windows which open out on to the sun deck.
The cottage has full central heating, which is charged for at cost if used. Electricity is included in the price of your holiday. Changeover day is on Saturday and the cottage is available from March until December, with special breaks being offered at Christmas and New Year.
The cottage has a strictly ''No Smoking'' policy. Well behaved, quiet dogs are welcome by prior arrangement.
