Heddon Valley Mill
Secluded Saxon Millhouse with luxury riverside cottages with indoor pool and Jacuzzi set in its own sheltered valley surrounded by 50 acres on Exmoor near the sea. The property, which was featured in the Doomsday Book, is approached by a private forestry track (the old stage coach route) through woodland where resident wild deer can often be spotted. The Estate was once owned by the Blackmore family and the author of Lorna Doone, R D Blackmore, lived here and one can capture the atmosphere of the book, with crackling fires under twisted oak beams. The Heddon Valley is a truly picturesque coastal hideaway. It has preserved its natural beauty and tranquility not only because it lies within the Exmoor National Park but also because much of it is owned and conserved by The National Trust. Idyllic wooded valley setting with private river frontage. This historic and very secluded Millhouse is set in 50 acres of pasture and woodland with the Heddon River babbling gently through the grounds. The River Heddon babbles its way through the valley including the grounds of the Mill on its way to the sea at Heddon's Mouth. A pleasant walk through the Valley takes you to the famous Hunter's Inn where meals can be enjoyed and onward from there a pretty montbretia-laden path through the woods by the river takes you to a tiny pebbly beach and the massive old lime-kiln there: the coastal footpaths in each direction take you to some of the most spectacular scenery in the country.

Come to Heddon Valley to relax in the beautiful warm waters of our indoor pool. Bubble away your cares in our warm Jacuzzi. Open all year round for sheer indulgence in summer or winter. Constantly heated large indoor pool (30ft x 15ft) and Jacuzzi. Two changing rooms, toilet and shower area, open 9am to 8pm. Payphone available.

Heddon Valley House
A very spacious house which is comfortably furnished with considerable character throughout. Three bedrooms all with exposed beams. A spacious double with four poster. Twin & bunk bedded rooms. Ground floor bathroom/shower and wc. Magnificent open plan living/dining room with beams and oak flooring. Wood burning stove in Inglenook fireplace, colour teletext TV, video, double bed-settee. Fitted Kitchen area with electric oven/hob, washing machine, dishwasher, large fridge/freezer, microwave etc.

Millers Cottage
Exposed beams and leaded light windows overlooking the river. Twin bedded room with access from Saxon, spiral stone staircase leading to landing with double room with four poster and single bedded room with bathroom/wc. delightful living room with wood burning stove in exposed stone walled inglenook fireplace, colour TV/video. Beamed dining room with French windows overlooking the river. Fully fitted kitchen with electric cooker, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave etc. With sliding glass doors to a private patio with attractive wrought iron garden furniture and barbecue.

Meadow Cottage
Pretty beamed 4-poster bedded cottage with magnificent views of valley, river and ponds. Spacious comfortable living room with beams, colour TV and double sofa bed. Fully fitted kitchen and dining room with electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave etc. Bathroom with w/c. The cottage is converted from the whole of the upper floor of the original old mill and is approached by a few external steps to the porch.

The Granary
The Granary Situated above the Millers Cottage and approached by its own private drive with parking area. With character beams and leaded windows. Two bedrooms with beamed ceilings, one double with carved pine bed head, fitted wardrobe and Victorian marble washstand, one twin bedded room. Bathroom/wc with sunken bath. Beamed living/dining room with wood burning stove, colour TV. Fully fitted pine kitchen with electric cooker, washing machine, microwave etc. Outside there is a secluded South facing sun deck with attractive wrought iron table and chairs.

Four poster double bedroom cottage. Situated beside the river with views up the valley. A door leads out onto suntrap patio, lawns and barbecue area, with a pond to the front of it. A Picturesque Cottage overlooking the river, you can actually fish from the window. Pine double bed with fitted wardrobe. Bathroom/wc with roll-top bath and hand basin. A peaceful, secluded and extremely picturesque hideaway with adjoining indoor pool and Jacuzzi. The property is surrounded by 80 acres of its own land and wood, home to the Red Deer and much other wild life.
A sparkling Trout stream babbles through the gardens on its way to the sea at Heddon's Mouth. A pleasant walk through the Valley takes you to the famous Hunters Inn where meals can be enjoyed and the coastal paths take you to some of the most spectacular scenery in the country.
The Lodge is equipped and furnished to a high standard to offer a luxurious holiday base or honeymoon retreat. Including log fire and full central heating.
Two bedrooms, lower level entrance hall. Bedroom with double bed and bunk beds and bathroom, shower room and w/c off. Wrought iron spiral staircase to attractive double bedroom with brass bed and pine partition doorway leading to upper reception area.
Extremely spacious open plan living/dining room with double bed-settee, colour teletext TV, video player, CD music centre, pool table, feature open log fireplace, tiled flooring with rugs. Kitchen area with electric cooker, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, microwave etc., and picture windows overlooking the patio and delightful garden Living room has direct access to constantly heated 30ft indoor pool complex (used occasionally by owner)- including large family sized hot tub Jacuzzi, shower room/wc and changing room.
Sliding glass doors lead to patio area and natural sun trap, with sun loungers and attractive garden furniture and barbecue. Spacious private lawned area adjoining pond with stream running through the garden.
