Harbour Reach is situated at the end of a row of seafarers cottages which were originally built so that the Captains of the sailing trawlers could keep an eye on their boats in the harbour below.
The views from the front of the house are spectacular, taking in the town, the picturesque harbour filled with a variety of commercial fishing boats and the marina with its yachts, cruisers and lifeboats.
The view extends across Torbay and out to sea - you can even see as far as Sidmouth on a clear day.
The situation of the house and its amazing views from the front windows make it a very popular holiday home for out of seasons breaks as days can be happily spent relaxing and watching the constant activity in the harbour and bay.
Harbour Reach is open throughout the year and short breaks are available between October and March.
Harbour Reach is just a few minutes walk from the town centre, the beaches and the harbour side from where numerous fishing and pleasure boat trips leave.
Brixham has been a charming and picturesque working fishing port for centuries with characteristic fisherman's cottages clustered around the historic harbour where Prince William of Orange landed in 1688. The town has many attractive, winding narrow streets with colourful cottages, a wide selection of shops, art gallery, craft shops and various cafes, restaurants, pubs and churches.
Brixham's beaches are a mixture of sand, shingle and large pebbles. The popular open air sea water swimming pool is surrounded by a shingle and rock beach which is always popular for rock pooling.
Nearby are the wonderful sandy beaches of Broadsands, Goodrington and Paignton, all of which provide safe, clean bathing. There are lovely coastal footpaths to Berry Head nature reserve with its colonies of nesting Guillimots and Kittiwakes, the Napoleonic Fort and the Lighthouse. The Lighthouse is both the smallest and highest in Britain!
