Mirus Cottage is located within the grounds of 'La Pointe Farm' an eleven acre property, which up until the second World War was a traditional Guernsey farm. It was then taken over by the Germans to form part of 'Battery Mirus'
During World War Two Guernsey was occupied by the German forces & the main house was selected by the commandant of 'Battery Mirus' for his personal base, as a result of the property's location allowing clear & unobstructed views over the island's western coastline.
'Mirus Cottage' was added to 'La Pointe Farm' at this time to house high ranking officers of the battery.
Following the end of the second world war 'Mirus Cottage' became home to returning Guernsey families.
We, 'Kevin & Cindy Gallichan' bought the farm in 1996 and decided the cottage lent itself to providing holiday accommodation, so we renovated it to it's now current modern standard.
Although 'La Pointe Farm' is no longer a working farm it remains the perfect holiday choice for animal lovers as we have a number of very friendly animals that we keep as pets, which have proven to be a delight to children & adults alike.
Adding to the peaceful & relaxing feel of the location of 'La Pointe Farm' is Mirus Cottage being situated alongside our stable yard, with the occasional whinny of the horses carrying over.
La Pointe Farm is also conveniently located 10 minutes walk away from unspoilt & beautiful beaches, perfect for bathing
Walking enthusiasts can revel in the scenic country lanes of the surrounding area, the quaint village of St Peters can be reached in about 20 minutes walk which includes a supermarket, pub, church, bank etc
