Old Mill Cottages, Cirencester, Gloucestershire

Old Mill Cottages are self- catering barn conversions, situated in a tranquil rural setting on the banks of the river Thames at the end of a private drive. The cottages are 4 1/2 miles south of Cirencester, capital of the Cotswolds, on a working arable, sheep and beef farm.

The cottages are surrounded by 100 acres of farmland affording splendid views and footpaths including the recently created Thames footpath, leading along the river Thames and joining up to the Cotswold water park and the local villages of Ewen and Somerford Keynes. The cottages are within easy reach of the Cotswold villages, Bath, Stratford-Upon-Avon, Oxford and Stonehenge.

Stable Cottage
A spacious single story cottage with large south facing windows and French windows onto patio with table. It has original beams and attractive rounded stone pillars. Large lounge/diner with colour T.V and DVD Player. Fitted kitchen with electric and microwave cookers, fridge/freezer and dish washer. Master bedroom with double bed and en-suite shower bathroom with shaver point. Second bedroom with twin beds and adjoining bathroom with shaver point.

Granary Cottage
Overlooking the River Thames and open fields, with French windows from the lounge opening onto the balcony, with table and chairs. Here you can breakfast and watch the wildlife on the river and enjoy marvellous views. The ground floor is open plan with original beams and stone walls, colour TV and DVD Player. and fitted kitchen with fridge, microwave and electric cookers. Upstairs is a spacious bedroom with 5' double bed , walk in wardrobe and connecting door to well appointed bathroom with over bath shower and shaver point.

Thames Cottage
Overlooking the river with French windows opening onto balcony with table and chairs giving glorious views of Thames and countryside. The ground floor comprises entrance lobby opening to fitted kitchen with electric and microwave cookers, fridge freezer and dishwasher with serving hatch to dining room. The lounge has colour TV and DVD Player. and large windows opening onto the river balcony.

Downstairs bedroom with double bed and adjoining shower/bathroom with shaver point.

Upstairs is the main galleried bedroom again overlooking the river with 5' double bed and walk in wardrobe. Third bedroom has 2 single beds. Fourth bedroom has 1 single bed. Bathroom with over bath shower and shaver point.

Tupenny Cottage
An attractive single story cottage. The lounge/diner has original beams and an exposed stone wall, window seat and colour TV and DVD Player. Fitted kitchen with fridge, electric and microwave cookers. The bedroom has a double bed and outside of the bedroom an alcove with a single bed. The bathroom has an over bath shower and shaver point.

Located on the edge of the Cotswolds, Old Mill Cottages makes an ideal centre, combining a quiet secluded base, but, giving easy access to the attractions of the Cotswolds villages, such as Stow-On-The-Wold, Bourton-On-The-Water, Broadway, Upper & Lower Slaughter, Bibury and Burford. Also Bath, Bristol, Stonehenge, Stratford-Upon-Avon, Oxford, Cheltenham and Gloucester. London is within easy reach via the M4 motorway or by train (1¼ hours) from Kemble station which is 2 miles from the Old Mill cottages.

Cirencester, capital of the Cotswolds is 4 ½ miles and the Cotswold Water Park starts within 1 mile and covers a large area, offering fishing, sailing, wind-surfing, jet-skiing, water-skiing, nature reserves, walking, cycle routes and horse riding. A nine hole golf course is within 3 miles and there is an 18 hole course at Cirencester. Kemble Station, with trains to London (1 ¼ hours) is two miles away.

It makes an ideal centre for touring the Cotswolds and is within easy reach of Cheltenham, Gloucester, Oxford, Stratford-Upon-Avon, Bath, Stonehenge, Malmesbury and Tetbury. All the cottages are barn conversions fitted to a high specification, retaining much of their original character, with exposed beams, stone walls and pillars.

They are all extremely well equipped and furnished to a high standard, with fitted carpets, double glazing and full central heating.

Experience the wildlife of the countryside. Foxes, rabbits and deer are frequently observed. Ducks, herons, buzzards and kingfishers visit the river Thames and can be viewed from Old Mill cottages and the Thames path.

There are many attractions in the vicinity including racing at Cheltenham, Polo at Cirencester park, horse trials at Badminton and Gatcombe. There is the well known Westonbirt Arboretum, golf courses and fishing. Ewen and Somerford Keynes which are within walking distance, have excellent food and ale.

Tupenny and Stable Cottages are adjoining single storey cottages, whilst Granary and Thames are adjoining two storey cottages, which overlook the River Thames and open fields.
