A great base for touring both Devon and Cornwall, Marhamchurch (pronounced "Mar’amchurch") is an attractive village just off the main North Cornwall coast road. Excellent sandy beaches at Bude and Widemouth (pronounced "Widmuth") Bay are just 2.5 miles away. Golf, fishing, riding and surfing are all easily available and the surrounding countryside is ideal for a peaceful holiday. Go hunting for the Beast of Bodmin Moor, cycle the Camel Trail or play Knights of the Round Table at nearby Tintagel.

Built in 1870 for the foundry workers, the fully double glazed and modernized cottage is situated in a small terrace in the quiet village of Marhamchurch. It is only a short drive, or a pleasant walk to the bustling North Cornwall town of Bude. Most of the surrounding property is inhabited by local folks, so there’s no shortage of people around who can point you where you want to go and ensure you make the most of your visit.

The ground floor of the cottage is open plan surrounding the stairway with a cosy sitting area to the front. A colour TV and radio will keep you amused if other attractions fail. The kitchen/diner is to the rear, with an electric cooker, washer/dryer, refrigerator and microwave. Patio doors open onto the garden.

Upstairs, the large main bedroom with double bed is to the front and offers views over open countryside to Widemouth Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. The view from the smaller, second bedroom with a full size bunk bed is no less rewarding, looking towards Bude town and - on the far horizon - Cleve Camp.

Heating in chillier times of the year is by night storage heaters downstairs, with an additional heater in the bathroom.

The village centre, a short quarter mile walk, offers a Church, a Pub and a General Store with Post Office. Nothing much happens here, so it’s the perfect place to relax …but for those who miss the city life there is a rush hour of sorts when the tractors make their way home from the fields.

The sandy beaches of Bude and Widemouth Bay, which are famous with surfers, are close by and if you are looking for night life, Bude itself offers plenty of pubs, discos and clubs that can keep you going until the early hours!

Cottage Facilities include:

Double bed in front bedroom.

Bunk beds in back bedroom, large enough for adults. Suitable for children aged 2 and up in bottom bunk, 6 and up in the top bunk.

Crockery and cutlery -  cooking utensils - duvets, pillows and covers on all beds -  bed linen (but not towels) - high chair - Freeview digital TV and radio - washer drier - microwave.

Travel cot and stair gate can be supplied on request. We would advise that the stairs are fairly narrow and steep so may be unsuitable for the elderly. The bathroom is upstairs and accessed via the back bedroom.
