Fisherman’s Cottage is in a stunning location - set on the banks of the River Wye in the heart of the Herefordshire countryside. With outstanding views over the river, this delightful secluded cottage offers peaceful riverside walks, wonderful bird watching and quiet villages to explore. Originally a fisherman’s cottage, it is now a spacious and well equipped holiday cottage which sleeps six. Well behaved pets are welcome by arrangement.
Fisherman’s cottage is detached and all the rooms overlook the River Wye. The accommodation comprises:
Two bedrooms (one double, one twin bedded)
Spacious landing with sofa bed (sleeps two)
One bathroom with bath (lie in the bath and watch the river flow past!), basin,
W.C. and shaver point
One shower room with basin and W.C.
Sitting room with open fire (logs provided)
Colour T.V.
Reception hall with radio and telephone
Separate dining area
Kitchen with electric hob and oven, microwave and fridge freezer
Utility room with washing machine
Conservatory
Pretty garden with plenty of space for relaxing or eating outside
All duvets, pillows, linen and towels provided (we do not provide swimming
towels)
ON YOUR DOORSTEP
In the heart of the Wye Valley, Fisherman’s Cottage is near the village of
Hoarwithy, which has a stunning Italianate church – just a short drive away,
but worth taking your time and walking the riverbank into the village. Excellent
food is available at the nearby Cottage of Content, and also The Loughpool and
The Moody Cow.
For the more active kayaking and canoeing are available.
FURTHER AFIELD
The city of Hereford is about 8 miles away. It’s home to a magnificent
Cathedral and the Left Bank Village offers contemporary riverside dining.
About 7 miles away is Ross-on-Wye, a small market town popular with tourists due
to its picturesque riverside location.
If you want to explore further afield we would recommend Ledbury, Goodrich
Castle, Eastnor Castle and Symonds Yat. For those interested in walking, there
are wonderful walks over the Malvern Hills and the Brecon Beacons (maps etc
provided in the cottage).

Directions from Ross-on-Wye
Take the A49 towards Hereford then take second turning on right signposted to
Hoarwithy. In Hoarwithy turn right just past pub (New Harp Inn) and then
immediately left towards Carey. Go through Carey and then through Ballingham.
Carry on out of village, down Ballingham Hill and Fisherman's Cottage is on the
right hand side, fourth cottage from the end.
