Totmans Farm (no longer a working farm) stands on the brow of the hill at the southern end of Thaxted. It is surrounded by beautiful Essex countryside with views of Thaxted Church and Windmill in the distance. The cottages are a few minutes walk from shops, eateries, pubs and buses.
Mill View and Orchard Cottage (a timber-clad farm building conversion) each sleep 4 people and are mirror images of each other. They are set well back from the road with ample car parking space. Facing west at the rear onto meadowland, guests are virtually guaranteed glorious sunsets from their own patio. If the patio gets too hot, you can relax in the shade of the small orchard, where you will find additional seating - a very relaxing place to take a well earned rest. For chillier times choose a book or DVD from the shelf and snuggle down.
Both the serviced accommodation and cottages are just a few minutes walk from buses (Stansted Airport), shops, pubs and eateries and are centrally located for touring surrounding villages in Essex, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire or for a trip to the coast; Clacton, Walton, Southend-on-Sea to name but a few. Information is available in advance on request for local fishing, cycling and walking. There are several golf courses within a 15 minute drive and others a little further away. Cambridge, Colchester, Duxford and Chelmsford are all less than an hour away. It also takes about an hour to get to London Liverpool Street from Stansted Airport (7 miles) - so you are only just over an hour from London's West End for shopping, sightseeing or taking in a show. You can either leave your car at the airport car park or take a bus or taxi from Thaxted.
Stay local and explore our beautiful town with its Guildhall, Church and Windmill. With a history which goes back to before the Domesday Book, whatever the reason for your visit, you are sure to find something that will be of interest. You will find Thaxted a truly memorable place to visit.

Furnishings are comfortable and for your convenience include hair dryer, iron, vacuum cleaner, clock radio, games, DVDs, music, etc. You will also find tourist information to help you plan your stay and make it more enjoyable. Each cottage has a substantial amount of holiday reading available on the shelves for those quieter moments.
There is parking for two cars at the front of each cottage and to the rear a patio with garden furniture. A meadow leads onto open countryside with excellent views.
