The Priory consists of three luxury, sympathetically converted
self-contained listed barns in rural surroundings. Originally the farm was the
resting place for the monks on their way to Tilty Abbey, which was founded by
Maurice Fitz Geoffrey and his overlord Robert de Ferrers, Earl of Derby in the
middle of the 12th century. The Priory in Tilty is situated between the villages
of Duton Hill and Broxted, with close proximity to Stansted Airport.
Each barn apartment is immaculately presented and stylishly equipped to the
highest standards.
The barns are ideally situated for Stansted Airport, Cambridge, Duxford, Saffron
Walden and only 40 minutes away from London.
Each barn offers the highest standard of accommodation and welcome packs of
local produce can be issued on arrival.
All the apartments are fitted with 37-inch wall-mounted flat screen television
and plenty of parking is available. All are non-smoking.
All apartments are fitted with Sky Plus and Wireless Internet
Long-term parking is available and transport to Stansted Airport can be
arranged. Shopping can also be organised and unpacked into your kitchen for a
small additional charge.
All bed linen, tea towels and towels are supplied and changed weekly and each
barn apartment will be surface cleaned once a week. The Priory is perfect for
country walks, bird or deer watching or visiting the many local tourist
attractions such as Mounfitchet Castle, Mole Hall Wildlife Park, Cambridge
University, Duxford Museum or maybe just enjoying a relaxed break in an unspoilt
part of the countryside. In the lounge of each barn apartment you will find a
folder detailing walks, the best pubs and restaurants and brochures on what to
do and what is going on in the area. If you are working at the airport for a
short time then The Priory can offer you that special home from home
accommodation.
Do you have an early onward journey? If so, we are happy to provide a continental style breakfast ready in your barn for you to enjoy at your leisure for a small charge. In addition we provide a full English breakfast pack, which includes bacon, sausages, and eggs (all locally sourced), local honey, tea, coffee, sugar, butter and a pint of milk, this can be delivered throughout your stay if you so wish.

the M11 motorway and the A120/A12. It is located between the villages of Duton
Hill and Broxted, is only five miles from the ancient Flitch town of Great
Dunmow, and a similar distance to the medieval village of Thaxted.
Saffron Walden market town is a short drive away, as are the picturesque
villages of Finchingfield, Felsted, the Bardfields, the Eastons and Stebbing.
London is a forty minute drive or train ride away.
The University City of Cambridge is within easy reach, also by train or car.
Whitehall Country House Hotel is just over a mile away. There are several local
pubs providing good lunches and evening meals.
