The Barn is on the edge of the small village of Little Yeldham,
which is on the Essex/Suffolk borders. Mashay Barn is ideal for exploring this
lovely part of East Anglia, which is famously known for filming the TV series
"Lovejoy".
The barn offers its guests excellent accommodation whether your
stay is a romantic break or a relaxing holiday. Tastefully decorated
incorporating Laura Ashley fine fabrics and accessories.

From leaving your car on the off road parking area guests
approach the Barn through a very pretty cottage garden then there are three
small steps up onto the decking area.
The front door leads to a newly fitted, fully equipped kitchen
with gas cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment and pine
farmhouse table and four chairs. In the Utility room there is a washing machine,
freezer, ironing board with iron, airier, hoover and cleaning materials.
The open plan area then goes into the lounge, where there is a very comfortable
sofa, Flat Screen Digital TV with Freeview, DVD and VCR players and a CD player
with a built in radio. We also provide Free Wireless Broadband (WiFi)
The bedroom is has a double Wrought Iron bed with a comfortable
mattress, crisp white Laura Ashley bed linen, curtains and cushions add that
special touch. A double pine dressing table and two pine bedside tables offers
spacious drawer space. There is also a built in wardrobe.
The en-suite bathroom has a full size cast iron bath together
with a Thermostatic Power Shower, full size hand basin and toilet. Shaver point
and constant hot water are available. Fluffy white towels and a bathrobe
complete the ambience.
Outside there is a private decked area, which has a wrought iron
table and chairs with a parasol for meal times or if your just wanting to relax
there is two reclining chairs with cushions.
Electricity, gas, bed linen, toiletries, towels, (two bath
sheet’s, bath towels, hand towels and face cloths per couple) and a ‘Welcome
Pack’ are all included in the tariff.
Groceries can be ordered in advance of your stay and delivered
after your arrival. All the main supermarkets such as Waitrose, Sainsbury’s and
Tesco all deliver in the area.
With over 60 different attractions within a 10 - 45 minute drive
of the barn we can offer our guests a varied collection of places to visit. We
have listed over 40 attractions as a guide, but can offer more detailed
brochures and information during your stay with us.

A Market town steeped in history, Clare Priory, The Ancient
House, which is the town’s museum. Clare Castle Country Park is Suffolk’s oldest
public park. Lovely walks through the park. Clare’s shops include a Co-Op
supermarket, chemist, Post Office, butchers, bakers, green grocers, ironmongers,
hairdressers and numerous public houses serving a good selection of food. The
antique warehouse has four floors of antiques. Clare has a great 9 hole Golf
Course and fishing is close by.
Great Yeldham
Ridgewell Airfield Commemorative Association. Private collection of WW11

Hedingham Castle
Norman Castle Keep, 110 feet high, was built c1140 by Aubrey de Vere and is
still owned by one of his descendants. With beautiful grounds. Regular jousting
tournaments and events.
Colne Valley Railway
Come and sample the atmosphere and take a ride on the award winning period
country railway. With regular events throughout the year
