Alice and I have been running 'Alice's Place' since 2001, providing holiday accommodation for people from all over the world. This is a two bedroom, deceptively spacious bungalow that can comfortably accommodate four people. The property is double glazed and has full central heating which is thermostatically controlled 24 hours a day. All bed linen and towels are included. We have excellent public transport facilities all within walking distance. For more information on the local area select the location tab at the top of the page
Entry to the bungalow is at the side of the property via a small enclosed porch. The spacious hall leads off to the two bedrooms, lounge and bathroom. The lounge is approximately 20 feet in length and has a fireplace at one end creating a focal point. There is a leather three piece suite, LCD TV/ DVD player and CD/radio. There are also a selection of books, maps and some games.
The bungalow sits back off the road and is predominantly block paved to the front, side and rear with the addition of lawned areas. There is ample parking on the drive for a large car and further parking on the street. Access to the rear garden is through the conservatory or via the side entrance which has a locked gate. The garden has a paved area and a large decked area with garden furniture. Rising out of the decking is a large cedar wood chalet style gazebo which has a seating area and the main feature of a family sized hot spa. To the rear of the gazebo is an area of shrubs with stepping stones leading to a garden seat.
The bungalow is situated in a relatively peaceful road, a short walk from the centre of Benfleet, where a variety of shops and eating establishments are located. The main shops start at the eastern end of Richmond avenue and include such things as bakers, butchers, supermarkets, fishmongers, jewellers and clothes to name just a few. These lead down to the conservation end of Benfleet, by the church, where you can find 3 pubs and several restaurants. Looking eastwards from the bungalow you can see Boyce Hill golf course which clings to the side of Vicarage Hill and also lies adjacent to Thundersley glen, an ancient woodland once part of a royal hunting ground. North east of the High road the area becomes quite steep and is known locally as 'Little Switzerland'. A short walk along Richmond Avenue takes you into the many acres of park/playing fields which spread as far as the tidal creek and railway station. The park has a playing area for children, soccer and cricket pitches depending on the season. There are many footpaths and cycle tracks to follow which will take you through the woods, Hadleigh Castle Country Park, or along the coastal paths to Canvey Island or Southend on Sea. Though the bungalow is in a peaceful location it is only a mile from the main road networks with the M25 being approximately 20 minutes drive. The C2C railway line will take you to Fenchurch Street, London in less than an hour, just a short walk from the Tower of London and Tower Bridge.
