Whistley Waters is in North Dorset, three miles from the small town of Gillingham, two miles from the A303 and 1 hr 30 minutes drive from Heathrow Airport. It is set in 15 acres of woodland, lakes and pasture land.

The owners live on site and will provide local information on eating out, walks, shopping, golf, clay pigeon shooting and many other activities.

Whistley Waters is central for many National Trust properties, stately homes and numerous attractions including Longleat Safari Park, Yeovilton Air Museum and Stourhead Gardens

The lovely Georgian city of Bath and Salisbury are both under an hours drive away, as is the beautiful Dorset coast. The Isle of White and Brownsea Island are in easy reach.

Mallard lodge and Lakes Lodge are both of A frame design and timber construction. Downstairs each has one double bedroom, bathroom with w.c. Upstairs Lakes has a twin room, a single room and  w.c. with hand basin.  Mallard has a twin, a room with two singles and a shower with w.c. and hand basin.

Each has an open-plan lounge with kitchenette and dining area. Outside is a sun deck with picnic table and BBQ. Mallard lodge is slightly larger and has a spiral staircase.

Both lodges are well insulated, double glazed with thermostatically controlled radiators in each room. Comfortably furnished and well equipped, they have been purpose built to provide a self catering holiday base that is just a little unusual and set in beautiful surroundings.

Bed linen and towels are included. There are 2 colour TV's, radio and microwave. Heating and cooking is by electricity which is meter read and payable at the end of the stay (£1 per day is included in the rental). Garden chairs are available for guests.

Both lodges face south overlooking Mallard lake with fields behind and surrounded by lawns and tree shaded areas. There is ample parking. The area is enclosed and is a safe environment for young children and dogs. Up to two countrywise dogs welcomed by arrangement.

The Annex adjoins the main house. It is totally self contained, fully heated, double glazed, furnished and equipped to a high standard.

The lounge with dining area overlooks the garden and lake. Fully fitted kitchen, bathroom with basin and WC. One double bedroom on the ground floor. Bed linen, towels, all power and heating included. Colour TV and radio, microwave and BBQ. Garden chairs available.

Coarse fishing is available on 3 lakes: Coot (largest fish), Mallard and Kingfisher.  Types of fish include Carp: Common, Mirror, Crucian, Ghost. Green Tench. Roach.

Waterfowl abound and crayfish are trapped commercially in season. There are some lovely walks in the area and we can provide maps and suggested routes.

Other facilities include; croquet, pitch & putt 3 hole golf, rowing dinghy, BBQ, garden chairs, ample parking.

Two dogs welcome by arrangement (regret not in The Annex).
There is a safe area for young children and dogs around lodges with gates closed
