Rudge Farm offers
the perfect location to enjoy a relaxed and stress-free holiday. The farm
is within 20 acres of beautiful countryside and only 2.5 miles from Dorset's
World Heritage Coastline.
The farm buildings have been thoughtfully converted into attractive cottages
retaining many of the original features all with spectacular views across the
Bride Valley towards the coast.
The Farm
Rudge Farm Cottages are
peacefully set in 20 acres of grazing land and woodland where you will see a
vast range of wildlife. There are lakes in the meadow below the cottages
where you are welcome to fish and there is lots of space for children to run
around safely while you relax.
The Cottages
The cottages are all
furnished and equipped to a high standard with 4 star English Tourist Board
Rating. All cottages are for non-smokers. We regret that
we do not take dogs or other pets.
There is guest-controlled central
heating, making the cottages ideal for all year round use. Short breaks
are available all year round in most cottages.
Living rooms have comfy sofas and chairs arranged around a 'living flame'
fire as a focal point. There is colour television and video.
Original features of the barns
have been retained where possible. The rooms are comfortably furnished in mellow
pine, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
There is a well fitted kitchen in one corner of the living room with electric
cooker, microwave and fridge. Highchairs are available if required
and there are barbeques to use outside on the terrace.
Beds are made up with duvets and coordinated
bedspreads. There are extra blankets for chilly winter nights. Linen,
towels, gas and electricity are all included in the rental. Cots and extra
folding beds are available. Most
bathrooms have a bath with shower over; wash basin and toilet. A baby bath
is available if required.
Washing machines and tumble dryers are located in a separate laundry room.
| Pigsty Cottage sleeps 2 + cot. There is one double bedroom with an en-suite shower room with extra large shower cubicle. There are 5 outside steps leading to the front door and decking area with table and chairs, overlooking the meadow. Inside there are no steps. |
| Orchard Cottage sleeps 6 + cot. It has one double and two twin bedrooms. There is an extra toilet in this large cottage and an over-bath shower. There are 4 outside steps to the front door and no inside steps. French windows lead from the living room to the balcony, with garden furniture, and there are steps down into the meadow. |
| Stable Cottage sleeps 2 + 1. It is ideal for couples or families with one young child, having one bedroom with a double and space for a single bed. There is an en-suite shower room with extra large shower cubicle. The cottage is all on the ground floor and faces west, overlooking a lawned area with picnic bench. |
| Hayloft Cottage sleeps 2 + 2. It is a spacious first floor studio cottage with stone outside steps. The bedroom/living area is open-plan and split -level, with a double bed in the corner of the living room. There is also space for two children's beds on the mezzanine balcony (please note this will not be suitable for young children). The kitchen is separate in this cottage and there is an over-bath shower. French windows lead to a balcony with table and chairs overlooking the meadow. |

Cottage sleeps 2 + 1 + cot. There is a good size double bedroom with
space for a child's bed and a cot. The en-suite bathroom has an
over-bath shower. The cottage has one step up from the living room
to the bedroom. Outside there is a south-facing terrace with
picnic bench. |
| Keepers Cottage sleeps 4 + cot. There is a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. The double bedroom has space for a cot. This cottage is all on one level. There is an over-bath shower. Outside there is a south-facing terrace with picnic bench. |
| Shepherds Cottage sleeps 4/5 + cot. The front bedroom has a double bed. The twin room is suitable for wheelchair users, or it can be used as a triple room with a 3' trundle bed. The bathroom is extra large for a wheelchair, with grab rails around the bath and toilet. There is an over-bath shower. Outside there is a south-facing terrace with picnic bench. |
| Carters Cottage sleeps 6 + cot. It has one double and two twin bedrooms. There is an extra toilet in this large cottage and an over-bath shower. There are 2 steps inside from the living room level to the bedroom and bathroom level. Outside there is a west-facing terrace with picnic bench. |
| Thatchers Cottage sleeps 4 + cot. There is a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. This cottage has one step inside between the living room and the bedrooms and there is an over-bath shower. Outside there is a west-facing terrace with picnic bench. |
| Gardeners Cottage sleeps 4 + cot. This also has a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. There are two steps inside between the living room and the bedrooms and there is an over-bath shower. Outside there is a west-facing terrace with picnic bench. |
