Swallows is our brand new log cabin and a great hideaway for two. Equipped with every comfort it's in a superb private location with fabulous views. Accommodation consists of one double bedroom, en suite shower room, living room with kitchen and dining area, sunny paved patio with barbeque, table, chairs and loungers, storage area with washing machine, and parking. An absolutely ideal retreat for couples in an idyllic location. It's cosy for the winter too, with electric log burning stove. Swallows has been built to a high standard, has excellent insulation and double glazing.
The Games Room offers table tennis, table football, pool table and darts as well as games for the garden such as cricket and badminton and croquet. There are board games both in the cottages and the Games Room and tennis rackets and balls are available for use on the Tennis Court. There is a children's play area outside.
Our 12 m x 5 m Outdoor Heated Swimming Pool is open from the beginning of May to the end of October. The shallow end is approximately 1.2 m which shelves to a deep end of just over 2m. There are pool toys, loungers and patio furniture and the area is a sun trap enjoying a sunny and sheltered aspect for most of the day.
The hard Tennis Court is newly re-surfaced and is available for guests to use. We ask that you use shoes with non-marking soles. We have tennis rackets and balls available if you don't have your own.
In the Games Room there is a pool table, full sized table tennis table and table football along with many board games and games for the garden, such as badminton, cricket, boules and croquet. In short there's plenty to do if you want to, or just relax and enjoy the view.
Helping to feed the sheep, horses and stable cats each evening is always popular attraction for children.
There are some beautiful walks on our doorstep and horse riding and golf within a few miles. For those of you who prefer to cycle we can arrange hire locally or if you'd like to bring your own, we can provide secure storage.
The World Heritage Jurassic coastline is 4 miles away, with lovely beaches such as Lyme Regis, Seaton, Beer, Branscombe, Sidmouth, Budleigh and Exmouth all being within easy reach. For walkers and cyclists the East Devon Way is on our doorstep, and riding and golf are nearby. There are many attractions, both for children and adults in the surrounding areas.
We are situated between Colyton and the pretty village of Northleigh with it's 13th century church. The historic town of Colyton is 2 miles away with picturesque narrow streets and town square with a range of local shops, pubs and restaurants.
The ancient market town of Honiton is 4 miles away with a wide selection of shops, railway station and access to the A30 and M5. There are street markets on a Tuesday and Saturday and regular farmers markets. Honiton is noted for it's lace making and pottery and an abundance of antique shops line the main street.
From Honiton High Street, turn south into New Street signposted to the station. Continue under the railway bridge and up to a mini roundabout. Turn left and then immediately right to Farway and Northleigh. Pass the Golf Club on your right and continue for about 4 miles to Farwood Cross. Turn left to 'Colyton 3 miles'. Stay on this road and we are on the left after about 0.8 miles. From Colyton, take Queen Street and carry on over the river bridge to a fork in the road. Keep to the left of the childrens play area and after about 2 miles we are on the right.
