Within easy reach is the spa town of Buxton and the market town of Bakewell, famous for the original Bakewell pudding.  Nearby Castleton is surrounded by impressive scenery and a number of show caves.  The region is well regarded by climbing enthusiasts and Stanage Edge, about six miles from Barlow, provides climbs for both beginners and experienced climbers.
Not to be missed is Chatsworth House (pictured ) which lies about 4 miles to the south of Barlow.

Shopping and entertainment..
Chesterfield market, overlooked by the crooked spire is within easy reach as is the resort of Matlock Bath.

Theatre lovers will find plenty on offer at the Chesterfield Pomegranate or Sheffield's Lyceum and Crucible Theatres, the latter famous for the World Snooker Championships in April each year.

 ......and if it rains

you can stay under cover at Sheffield's Winter Gardens and the adjoining Millennium Gallery - make sure you look in on the stunning silverware exhibition in the metalwork gallery.  Then take the twenty minute trip on Supertram to Meadowhall - one of the largest shopping malls in Europe.  Also worth a visit is Sheffield's hands-on and child friendly Weston Park Museum, restored during 2006 at a cost of £19 million.  Quite close to the museum lie the Botanical Gardens and pavilions ,pictured at the top of this page. They have also recently undergone a multi-million pound transformation.

The complex is located in the north Derbyshire village of Barlow on the B6051, midway between Chesterfield and Owler Bar.   Look out for our signs at the west end of the village near the bus stop.

Chesterfield railway station is about four miles away and Sheffield Midland Station can be reached in about 30 minutes by car or taxi.  A bus service operates from Chesterfield to Barlow.

From the M1, the most suitable exit is at junction 29
