You can simply unwind in the comfort of your own rental property or use it as a base for days out in the Derbyshire Peak District to visit the historic towns of Bakewell and Buxton, great houses like Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, the moors of Kinder Scout or the limestone dales such as Lathkill Dale and Dovedale.

The Hall is situated in a lovely country setting, surrounded by fields and with excellent walking from the door. There is a small childrens' playground within the grounds of the Hall. We accept dogs and other pets (additional charges apply).

Harthill Hall was founded in the 13th century and is a Grade II listed building. The Manor House is the main house of Harthill Hall, constructed in the 16th century and complete with stone flagged floors, oak beams, ancient carved oak doors, etc. Our other properties are sympathetic conversions of the outbuildings - including the Chapel, which was the original 14th century building on the site.

We have twelve luxury Peak District holiday cottages & and other rental properties sleeping from 2 to 20 people. All have full central heating and are fitted out and furnished to a high specification with many antiques. Many of our properties have private outdoor Hot Tubs and all have private use of our indoor heated swimming pool and sauna. We accept one pet per property rental, 2nd pet by arrangement only.

Nestling in 14 acres of Peak District National Park, this was a position chosen for one of the earliest settlements in Derbyshire.

Here in 1259 Sir Richard de Hartle was issued a Papal Bull by Pope Alexander II allowing him to appoint his own chaplain, and what was the original Hall House became a Chapel and was used as a place of worship until 1546.

Surrounding the Hall's dramatic cobbled courtyard, the listed buildings have been carefully converted with much thought and consideration being taken to retain many of the original features.

These include massive oak beams; mullion windows and flag stone floors, the interiors are bold and furnished with antiques collected by the owners Nicola and Peter Bunting. Peter is a noted antique dealer.

Harthill Hall's luxury holiday cottages and leisure facilities have the treasures of Haddon Hall and Chatsworth House close by, and are just three miles from the historic market town of Bakewell in the heart of the peak District National Park.

All this makes Harthill Hall's central location ideal for exploring the wonders of the Peak District, taking a tranquil holiday or a short mini holiday break.

You can explore the wonderful local scenery on foot or by bicycle, visit beauty spots such as the Derwent Dams, or take a tour with Peak Premier Travel, who organise tours of the local sights.

You can also explore local customs such as Well Dressings. This is unique to the area and consists of works of art made of petals and other natural materials. In long-past times these were made annually to bless the water supply. Now each local village makes its own annual well dressing and they are a popular tourist attraction.
