Derbyshire self catering holiday cottages
Hargate Hall is a fine and very substantial house located in the village of
Wormhill in the Heart of the Peak District National Park,
between Buxton, Bakewell and Castleton.
Hargate Hall has been divided up to provide 12 self catering apartments
providing holiday accommodation for families, friends, large
groups or small groups, holidays or short breaks, walking and activity holidays,
or just taking it easy.
The self catering apartments are all equipped to a high standard and are
really comfortable. Individually they sleep from 2 to 10 people. You can book
the apartments in any number, and for large groups booking the whole hall you
can sleep up to 77 people. All apartments have a fully fitted kitchen area with
everything you would expect to find. We have many facilities; a games room,
barbeques and a newly built adventure playground. We are set in 7.5 acres of
parkland with fantastic views over the surrounding Derbyshire Peak District.
All bed linen is provided and personal towels are available if required at an
extra charge of £5 per person per week. Electricity is charged by £1 coin meter.
The communal areas at Hargate Hall are centrally heated, (please note however
that due to the size and age of the building it will be colder than a modern
house in the winter!) and all apartments have independent electric heating.
Additionally, most apartments have an open fireplace. A starter pack of coal,
fire lighters and matches is provided and further supplies are available to
purchase from us (or local shops).
The hall boasts superb facilities on site for all ages. Inside, we have
comfortable communal areas with tables, chairs and sofas and a good selection of
books and magazines. Outside there are lots of places for kids to explore and
quiet places to sit and admire the views. There is a flat lawn area for croquet,
football, cricket, boules, badminton and a terrific adventure playground. We
also provide barbecues for the sunny days, and sledges for the snow. There is
ample car parking space and a laundry room and drying area are provided.
Well-behaved pets are permitted (charges apply and dogs to be kept on a lead in
the communal areas of the hall and upper garden). Everyone is guaranteed a warm
welcome.
All the self catering apartments have at least
one bathroom with a shower over the bath, a fully fitted kitchen, dining
table and chairs, and sofas. Below is a brief description of each of the
apartments. For further information on each apartment please see below. If
you click on the apartment name you will see pictures of the apartment. For
a more general overview please look at the 3 minute video that we have. To
help you in deciding which apartments you would like we also have a diagram
showing the positions of the apartments within the Hall , and also an excel
spreadsheet detailing the sleeping capacity of each apartment and bedroom.
Please note:- due to the height of the mezzanine sleeping areas and the
method of access (ladder) we do not recommend that children under the age of
7 use them. However the final decision as to whether or not to use them
rests with the parents.

Balmoral - 3 bedroom self catering apartment, up to 10
persons(8+2)
Our biggest self catering apartment with one bathroom, one shower
room, and three bedrooms, one with a double bed, one with king size
bed and bunk bed, and one with a double bed and 2 mattresses on a
raised mezzanine. Balmoral has a very spacious living room with
three settees, open fire and fabulous views. This apartment is on
the first floor. The bedroom with the bunk bed could also take a
cot.

Windsor - 3 bedroom self catering apartment, up to 9
persons
Really spacious apartment with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (one
en-suite). One bedroom has a double and bunk bed and has its own en
suite bathroom. Another has a single and a bunk bed, and the
remaining one has 2 singles. The living room is very spacious with
three settees. This apartment is on the ground floor, with the
bedrooms and bathrooms being down some stairs in the converted
basement. Both bedrooms with the bunk beds could also take a cot.

Sandringham - 2 bedroom self catering apartment, up to
8 persons (6+2)
This apartment has two bedrooms, one with a double and set of bunk
bed, and the other a double with 2 singles mattresses on a raised
mezzanine. Additionally, this apartment has a dishwasher. The living
room is very spacious with three settees. This apartment is all on
the ground floor. Both bedrooms could also take a cot.

Ashbourne - 2 bedroom self catering apartment, up to 8
persons (8)
This apartment has two bedrooms, one with a king sized bed plus a
bunk bed and the other has a double bed plus a bunk bed. The living
room is very spacious with two settees. This apartment is on the
ground floor, with the bedrooms and bathroom being down some stairs
in the converted basement. The bedroom with the bunk bed could also
take a cot.

Bakewell - 2 bedroom self catering apartment, up to 8
persons (4+4)
Two bedrooms each with a double plus 4 singles on a raised gallery
accessed from the living room. Two bathrooms. Living room with 2
settees electric fire (this is the only apartment without an open
fire) and the kitchen/dining room is in a conservatory. This
apartment is on the ground floor. One bedroom and bathroom is on the
ground floor and the other bedroom and bathroom are down a staircase
in the converted basement. Neither bedroom can easily take a cot.

Eyam - 2 bedroom self catering apartment, up to 6
persons
This apartment has two bedrooms, one double and one double with a
set of bunk beds. A separate galley kitchen and living room with two
settees.

Tissington - 2 bed roomed self catering apartment. up
to 6 persons (4+2)
This apartment has two bedrooms, one with 2 single beds, plus one
with a double with two singles on a raised gallery. Fabulous views.
Two settees. This apartment is on the first floor. Neither bedroom
can easily take a cot.

Castleton - 2 bed roomed self catering apartment. up
to 6 persons (4+2)
Spacious apartment with two bedrooms, one has a king size bed plus
two single mattresses on a raised gallery, the other (in the turret)
has a king sized 4 poster bed. The living area has two settees .
This apartment is on the first floor however one of the bedrooms is
in the tower up an additional set of narrow stairs.
Both bedrooms could also take a cot.

Haddon - 1 bedroom self catering apartment. up to 4
persons (2+2)
This 1 bed roomed apartment has one double bed and two singles on a
raised gallery. Good sized living room with two settees. This
apartment is on the first floor. The bedroom could also take a cot
if some furniture is moved.

Chatsworth - 1 bedroom self catering apartment. up to
4 persons (2+2)
This 1 bed roomed apartment has one double bed and two singles on a
raised gallery. Generous living room with two settees. This
apartment is on the first floor. The bedroom could also take a cot
if some furniture is moved.

persons (2+2)
This 1 bed roomed apartment has one double bed and two singles on a
raised gallery. The living room is very generous with a large settee
and armchair. This apartment is on the ground floor. The bedroom
could also take a cot if some furniture is moved.

Hardwick - 1 bedroom self catering apartment. up to 4
persons (2+2)
Our smallest apartment with 1 bedroom with a double bed and 2
additional mattresses on a raised mezzanine. Ideal for two but can
sleep four. Hardwick has one settee in the living room. This
apartment is on the first floor. The bedroom cannot easily take a
cot.
