de Beers – the barn

A beautifully converted stone barn in a stunning 2 acre setting overlooking Dartmouth Golf Course and surrounding open countryside. We are situated just a short distance from the town of Dartmouth and the lovely beaches of Blackpool and Slapton sands. The barn offers total peace and tranquility in a most wonderful and relaxing environment.

The accommodation

Is very tastefully decorated and furnished retaining many original features – the open plan living space has exposed wooden beams and a wood burning stove for those cosy winter nights! The floor to ceiling windows offer lots of light and wonderful countryside views….

The spacious bedrooms are all en-suite with big showers!

The double bedrooms have king size beds – and superb mattresses!

The barn has state of the art under floor heating throughout….

The water comes from our underground spring.

Our hot water comes via solar panels (on sunny days only).

The water used to flush the loo’s and for the washing machine is via a rainwater harvesting system.

Booking Terms & Conditions

Provisional booking will be accepted by telephone but must be confirmed within 7 days by the receipt of a £200 deposit

The balance of your holiday must be received 4 weeks prior to the start of your holiday.
Please make all payments by cheque made payable to S. de Beer

For bookings made within 6 weeks of arrival the full amount must be paid.

We advise guests to take out holiday cancellation insurance as repayment of money paid in advance will only be returned if the accommodation is re-let.

The barn is only equipped for a maximum of 6 people. All names must be given at the time of booking. The hirer must not sublet or share the accommodation except with the persons named. The hirer must not exceed the number of occupiers named at the time of booking.
We reserve the right to terminate the hire agreement without notice or refund if at any time the number of occupiers is exceeded.

All furniture, furnishings & equipment must not be removed from the property.

Please leave the barn in the same condition as when you arrived. Any breakages, damage or abnormal cleaning needs must be paid for.

We would like to advise you that this is a non-smoking property. Anyone found smoking inside the property (on the patio is fine) will be asked to leave without notice or refund.

Regretfully we cannot take children under the age of 5yrs.

Unfortunately the barn is unsuitable for disabled.

The tenancy created by this agreement is a holiday let within paragraph 9 of part 1 to schedule of the Housing Act 1988.

The owners will not be held responsible for any accident, injury, loss or damage to any member of his/her party, visitor, or their property however caused.

Period of hire

The barn will be ready for occupation from 2pm on arrival day (Saturday)
Vacation will be by 10am on the day of departure.

De Beers is situated on the A3122, four miles out of Dartmouth

Directions
Follow the brown leisure signs for Woodlands Leisure Park from the A38 at the Buckfastleigh. We are situated on the left just before the Woodland Park and Dartmouth Golf Club.

From the North
Leave the A38 at junction for A384 (Buckfastleigh, Totnes, Dartmouth, Kingsbridge). At top of slip road turn left along the A384, approximately 3 miles to a set of traffic lights over a bridge. 1 mile to Dartington and turn left at a roundabout for Totnes / Kingsbridge (A381). After approximately 1 mile, turn right at the traffic lights in Totnes (Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Dartmouth). Uphill to traffic lights and go straight over. Drive through Harbertonford & Halwell. Turn left onto the A3122 to Dartmouth immediately after the BP filling station on the left. Follow this road past the Forces Tavern. You will see “Barn Court” on your left, come down the lane and follow the sign for de Beers.

From the South
Leave the A38 at the South Brent/Avonwick Junction. Turn right at the top of the slip road, then left towards Avonwick following Brown Leisure signs for Woodlands Park.
