Riverside Lodge is a property of immense charm and character with two adjoining self catering holiday cottages in Ambleside, both of which sleep 2. Illustrated above, "Middlebeck" in the centre and "Overbeck"on the right are delightfully situated in a unique and idyllic setting on the bank of the River Rothay just 500 yards from the centre of Ambleside and near Lake Windermere. At the heart of the Lake District in Cumbria. Riverside Lodge has been occupied by the same family for nearly 30 years and we continue to supervise and maintain our accommodation personally.
The two Ambleside cottages are furnished and equipped to 4 star requirement providing quality Self Catering Accommodation in the Lake District. Both cottages have one spacious en-suite bedroom to sleep 2 persons only. They are maintained to a standard which will appeal to discerning couples. Central Heating is installed plus a Feature Fire Suite in the Lounge. TV and Radio are provided. Ample parking is available in our private car-park. We are unable to accept children or pets.
Ambleside town centre is just a short walk upriver and a similar walk downriver leads to Lake Windermere. The cottages enjoy views over the river towards Loughrigg Fell and, are completely independent affording total privacy. A perfect location for exploring the Lake District National Park and the wider reaches of Cumbria. Ideal accommodation for a romantic honeymoon and a perfect location for pursuing Hill and Fell Walking, Cycling, Fishing, Bird Watching etc.
"Middlebeck" is a 4 star self catering Holiday Cottages to sleep 2 adjoining "Riverside Lodge" and is the middle cottage as indicated in the external picture of Riverside Lodge above. Situated only 500 yards from the centre of Ambleside and Lake Windermere with superb views over the river at the heart of the Lake District in Cumbria. The property is constructed on 3 levels with an Upper and Lower Ground Floor. The accommodation will appeal to discerning couples. The lower ground-floor has a basement/storage room from which a staircase leads to the upper ground-floor comprising: Lounge/Kitchen Dining Area. On the top floor is a spacious bedroom with king-size double bed and Shower room. All rooms overlook the river. Outside is a private patio overlooking the river and garden towards Loughrigg Fell.
"Overbeck" is a 4 Star self catering Holiday Cottages to sleep 2 adjoining "Riverside Lodge" and is the cottage on the right of the property as indicated in the picture above. The cottage is just 500 yards from the centre of Ambleside and Lake Windermere with superb views over the river at the heart of the Lake District in Cumbria. The accommodation will appeal to discerning couples and comprises: Lounge/Kitchen/Dining Area, spacious Double Bedroom with king-size double bed and Bathroom. All rooms overlook the river. Outside is a private patio overlooking the river and garden towards Loughrigg Fell.

Ambleside is equally popular for visitors seeking a relaxing break with a wonderful artistic and literary heritage. There is much to explore in the Country Houses, galleries, museums and an innovative Cinema/Restaurant. There are many high quality restaurants, numerous pubs and takeaways, catering for the most eclectic tastes as well as those with limited budgets.
