The four cottages,
Millstone, Butterwick, Foxholes and Thistle Close are situated on a working farm
in the picturesque Northern Dales, with spectacular views of lower Teesdale.
Teesdale is an area of outstanding beauty, with castles, museums, historic
towns, spectacular waterfalls and moorland. The area is ideal for walking,
fishing, cycling, horse-riding, golf, sailing, canoeing or just relaxing away
from the crowds.
Strathmore Barns is centrally located for the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales,
East Coast, Hadrian's Wall, Beamish Museum and the historical cities of York and
Durham.

north England. The cottages are situated on a working farm in the beautiful
Northern Dales, set around a court yard of newly converted stone barns you can
relax in spacious interiors with natural beamed ceilings, fully equipped modern
kitchens to cater for your every need and luxurious bathrooms with spa bath and
power shower in which to unwind, Millstone even has a five person sauna. All
four cottages feature king-size four poster beds and en-suite. In fact ,
everything you need for the perfect holiday. Located in rural Teesdale , a
peaceful setting, the barns have been cleverly designed to accommodate parties
of up to 22 people. All cottages benefit from a continuous supply of natural
filtered spring water. The central heating is fired by an eco-friendly wood chip
furnace ensuring a constant supply of hot water and helps to keep down green
house gases by burning wood chip which would normally go into land-fill. We also
encourage the use of recycling boxes for glass, paper, tins and plastic.
