Innkeepers Cottage - A unique and cosy 17th Century grade 2 listed period cottage brimming with character and charm, centrally located for both the historic city of Durham and the pretty market town of Barnard Castle and Teesdale with the ever popular Hamsterley Forest and all its attractions on the doorstep.

Ideal for romantic breaks situated in the heart of the beautiful un-spoilt Durham Dales, a perfect base for exploring and visiting the many attractions this lovely area has to offer, a wonderful location for walking, bird watching or a tranquil retreat from routine.

Innkeepers Cottage, as the name suggests, was once the residence of the local innkeeper in the 17th Century. Today it has been sympathetically refurbished to an exceptionally high standard and has retained many period features including exposed timber beams, wooden floors, sash windows and original fireplaces. A charming and unique little cottage.

With an open log fire, the sitting room is ideal for those cosy evenings in after a day spent exploring the dales.

The country style kitchen has been hand made by local craftsman in solid pine and is complimented by a traditional Belfast sink with a quarry tiled floor.

The large bedroom has a sumptuously comfy double bed with a feature fireplace. All rooms have been tastefully furnished and have a nostalgic feel to them.

There is a small raised garden to the rear with patio, which overlooks fields with sheep, rabbits and hens etc.

Car parking directly outside of cottage.

Non-smokers only please. 1 well behaved pet welcome.

Frosterley is a small ancient village set in a conservation area, designated an "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty".

Ideally situated on the banks of the river Wear, the village is surrounded by beautiful open countryside with glorious scenery. There are two village pubs, both serving food with evening entertainment, and a passenger steam railway stops at Frosterley station on its run between Wolsingham and Stanhope.
