Killanoon is well equipped to cater for families 4 to 6 strong, with young or older children or just couples.
From 1850 Killanoon was a smallholding of a house and barn set within a two and a half acre section of the Cornish countryside, and is completely surrounded by open fields and trees. We are just a 4 minute drive from the major holiday town of Hayle, and literally a couple of minutes from 2 fisheries, a Paradise Park Bird sanctuary, an outdoor Karting centre and a Maize Maze - Not to mention the best Indian Restaurant this side of Birmingham! Many more attractions are well within 20 or 30 minutes of this very central location.
The barn has been converted into 2 apartments, each full of character but with every modern comfort, like 40" flat screen TVs with free view and DVD players, solid oak kitchens, gardens with a badminton court, table tennis, basketball, trampoline etc.
One of the best features of Killanoon is the privacy of its situation, yet it is only a short drive to Hayle's renowned '3 miles of golden sands' and St Ives with its colourful harbour and many restaurants and galleries, including the world famous Tate Gallery. We are central to many other well known Cornish attractions - the Open Air Minack Theatre, Flambards Theme Park, Lands End, St Michaels Mount - voted one of the top 5 bays in the world - The Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan - the list goes on and on (and on and on!). For a breath of some of the freshest air in the UK you could take a nice walk in the Cornish countryside or take an invigorating coastal walk.
If you get all cultured out you could pop down the road and do the Maize Maze, try Go-Cart Racing or visit Paradise Park & see some truly memorable sights. Or you could try your hand at lake fishing for trout at Tree Meadow Trout fisheries or go to BK fisheries for some hard fighting Cornish Carp, Bream, Roach, Rudd and even eels. Official NFA coach Billy Knott says that with his bait and coaching - you will not fail to catch a fish - guaranteed. All of the attractions mentioned in the last paragraph are literally minutes from us.
Apart from the attractions mentioned we also have a well equipped games room with Air Hockey, Pool, arcade games etc. (all priced at just 30p per play). There are also many local pubs and restaurants just minutes away.
5 minutes from us starts a coastal footpath which takes the same route as the train journey hailed as the most scenic train ride in Britain - from St Erth to St Ives. It is an easy flat 4 mile walk and a popular way to spend a day - park at St Erth and walk into St Ives and spend the day looking around shops and galleries on cobbled streets, maybe visit the world famous Tate gallery or Barbara Hepworth museum and garden or just spend some time on the beach and then get the train back, pasty in hand.
