The surrounding dense woodland gives way to dramatic hills and magnificent mountains, which once explored reveal hidden lakes, rivers with peaceful and secluded pools, spectacular waterfalls spanned by ancient, charming bridges.
Here you’ll find instant peace and tranquillity that shuns the hectic world beyond the valleys.
Yet virtually on your doorstep you’ll find pubs, bars, restaurants. Shops for essential groceries and shops that specialise in outdoor clothing, mountain bike hire, etc. The historic market town of Llanrwst is just 4 miles away and provides numerous shops, banks, two excellent butchers and a supermarket.
There’s plenty though to keep you occupied in the town itself, which has always been an important and major part of life in these parts, including a museum with a miniature railway, the ancient 14th Century St Michael’s church and the Snowdonia National Park Visitor Centre for those who want to find more about exploring the outstanding natural beauty of the surrounding Welsh countryside and its many activities, be they outward pursuits, cultural or historical attractions.
Betws-y-Coed is the gateway to the beautiful Snowdonia National Park, which provides excellent mountaineering, mountain biking, walking, canoeing, fishing and nature watching opportunities, together with a good choice of shops pubs and restaurants. An ideal base for an all year round action packed or restful holiday. The seaside resorts of Llandudno, Colwyn Bay and the historic town of Conwy with its castle are within a 40-minute drive. Originally constructed as an outbuilding for the a water mill, the main part
of the house is over 300 years old. The property was converted for residential
use in the late 1960’s. Millrace is located 5 minutes walk from all the
amenities and shops that Betws-y-coed has to offer. The cottage has off street
parking for 3/4 cars.
Since the original conversion the cottage has been the family home for the past
43 years. The property has recently been refurbished to provide a spacious but
cosy cottage atmosphere.
The cottage will accommodate six people in 2 twin bedrooms (including a baby
cot) and 2 single bedrooms.
The main house has a twin bedroom, 2 single bedrooms and a family bathroom. The annex at the rear of the cottage has a twin bedroom and en-suite bathroom.
On the ground floor the accommodation comprises a large family kitchen with a hob, oven, dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave, fridge freezer and all the normal small appliances. There is also storage for outdoor clothing in the boiler cupboard and a boot rack.
The dining area can seat 6-8 people and there is also a high chair available.
The lounge can comfortably seat 6 people. The slate fireplace has a gas fire. The lounge is also equipped with a 32” plasma screen TV with built in DVD/CD player.
To the rear of the cottage is a patio area with beautiful views across a field and the river Llugwy beyond. There is a barbeque with a table and seating. This is a picturesque and tranquil area to relax with a cup of tea or a glass of wine. There two anchor locks to secure mountain bikes, etc.
