The luxurious self catering holiday cottages offer accommodation in the village of Rainow. They are located in the grounds of Kerridge End House, a former Gentleman’s residence built in 1837 for John Mellor. Kerridge End is in the conservation area of the village of Rainow, which lies in the foothills of the Pennines, straddling the Cheshire boundary of the Peak District National Park.

Rainow is blessed with a massive network of well-maintained footpaths, in total 44 miles, varying from quiet rambles to tough hill walking on rugged moors. The famous Gritstone Trail runs through the village. For the cyclists there are the Riding the Ridges and the Grit and Gears cycle routes close by.

The beautiful Peak Park with its many attractions is on the doorstep. The historic city of Chester is approximately 1 hours drive away. There are many pretty villages with fine pubs, shops and restaurants within easy reach. Local attractions include several National Trust properties such as Tatton Park, Little Moreton Hall, Lyme Park, Quarry Bank Mill and Dunham Massey, to name but a few. The local market towns of Macclesfield, Buxton, Bakewell, Ashbourne and Leek, which provide shopping and sightseeing opportunities, are within easy driving distance.

Trains run from Macclesfield, which is less than 2 miles away and is on the main line from London, for the short journey to the bustling city of Manchester with its many galleries, museums and theatres. Manchester International Airport is less than half an hours drive away.

The Coach House accommodation comprises of a beautiful and luxurious conversion of the old coach house: that has maintained the original features of the oak beams, Yorkshire sash windows and coach entrance. All the rooms have been individually styled to give a light and airy feeling.

On the first floor is a large and comfortably furnished lounge featuring an apex ceiling with oak beams, television, DVD/VCR and Hi-fi system. There is a well equipped breakfasting kitchen with refrigerator/freezer, built in cooker, hob & extractor, microwave, washing machine/tumble dryer and dishwasher.

For that more formal occasion there is a separate dining room. The main bathroom is also on this level and is beautifully furnished with bath, shower and shaver point.

On the ground floor is the master bedroom equipped with TV, radio and hair dryer. There is a beautiful shower room which can provide en-suite facilities for the master bedroom. The second bedroom is furnished with twin beds and is equipped with TV, radio and hair dryer.

The outside patio area has a picnic table and barbecue facilities.

Parking is provided.

All prices are fully inclusive: linen and towels, gas, electricity and fully controllable central heating. A cot and high chair are available but please bring your own cot linen.

For your enjoyment we have provided a selection of books, games, DVDs and CDs in the holiday cottage. Wireless Broadband Internet connection is available.

The Stables is an enchanting conversion of a ground floor Grade II listed stables. This romantic luxuriously appointed one bedroom ground floor apartment sleeps two people. The distinctive half round windows which were a prominent feature of the building have been preserved. The Stables is all on one level for easy access.

The bedroom has a king-size double bed, clock radio and hair dryer. The stunning en-suite bathroom is superbly equipped with a double steam shower enclosure, jet spa bath and bidet. The lounge, dining and kitchen area are open plan with oak flooring.

The kitchen area has granite worktops and has a comprehensive range of equipment including refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine/tumble dryer, microwave, built in oven, hob and extractor. The lounge area has a leather suite and is equipped with flat screen LCD TV, DVD player and hifi.

Off road parking is provided

The Hayloft is an immaculate conversion of the first floor of a Grade II listed barn which sleeps up to six people. The unique features of this unusual building have been carefully preserved to retain charming exposed beams, distinctive circular windows and every room has its own unique character. With the exception of one bedroom the main living areas of The Hayloft are all on one level.

All the rooms have been finished with luxury and comfort in mind. There is a large lounge with original wood flooring and exposed roof beams, which has a flat screen LCD TV, DVD, DAB hifi system and seating for twelve people.

The well appointed open plan kitchen has oak work surfaces, refrigerator/freezer, built in cooker, hob & extractor, microwave, and dishwasher and opens onto the dining area which has an apex ceiling with stunning exposed beams. The dining area can seat up to twelve people with ease for elegant dining. There is a separate utility with washer/dryer and cloakroom facilities.

There are three individually styled bedrooms. A double bedroom accessed via three steps with king-size bed, DAB radio/alarm and an en-suite shower room. The second bedroom has twin beds which can be linked to form a double bed if preferred, DAB radio/alarm, an en-suite split level bathroom with bath and steam shower enclosure. The third bedroom has twin beds, these beds can also be linked, DAB radio/alarm and an en-suite wet room. Hair dryers and luggage stands are available in all bedrooms.

The Hayloft has its own private patio and lawned areas with a picnic table and barbecue facilities. There are further picnic tables in the adjacent field which guests are welcome to use while enjoying the surrounding wildlife such as owls, woodpeckers, rabbits and numerous other birds and animals.

Kerridge End Holiday Cottages are located less than 2 miles north east of Macclesfield on the B5470, in the village of Rainow on the Cheshire/Derbyshire border. Rainow is on the edge of the Peak District National Park and on the Gritstone trail. The city of Manchester is approximately 45 minutes drive north and Manchester International Airport is less than 30 minutes drive away.
