Baker's cottage is just 10 minutes walk from the heart of Chester - a beautiful old English city with a unique walled centre. It is situated in the North West of England on a loop in the river Dee.
The city is rich in history from it's days as an ancient Roman port to it's medieval buildings which give the city centre it's uniquely English character. These buildings now house a wealth of shops, cafes and restaurants, making Chester a great place for a weekend city break.
Chester is also famous for it's race course, one of the oldest in England, which still holds regular race meetings throughout the season.
Our holiday cottage is within easy driving distance of the beautiful countryside and coast of North Wales. Chester also makes a convenient base for exploring the Wirral Peninsular, as well as visiting two of England's major cultural centres, Liverpool and Manchester.
Chester's unique walled city centre is packed with history ranging from ancient Roman ruins and a 900 year old Cathedral, to 13th Century half timbered shops. In the mainly pedestrianised city centre stylish designer stores rub shoulders with familiar high street names and quirky gift shops.
