By The Byre self-catering holiday cottages near Bath offer stylish and comfortable holiday accommodation. By The Byre Cottages are four newly built self-catering holiday cottages.

Each of the four holiday cottages offer a double and twin bedroom, a well appointed kitchen and lounge/dining room.

The holiday cottages are set in open countryside near the Somerset border. The self-catering holiday cottages are close to Frome, minutes from Longleat House and Longleat Safari Park. By The Byre Cottages are only 12 miles from Bath.

The accommodation consists of a well appointed kitchen with fridge and freezer, dishwasher and micro wave.

The laundry is in an adjacent room with two washing machines and a dryer.

The kitchen leads to a dining room and lounge with under floor heating, an electric fire, a music centre and TV with DVD player. A selection of DVD’s are made available. This room leads through French windows to a small patio with a table and chairs for drinks while watching the sun go down over the fields.

Upstairs are two bedrooms, normally set as a double and twin room, and a bathroom with shower and bath.

Wireless network facility in all cottages.

The four cottages are independently fenced from the land, but with access to barbecue areas and fishing ponds. Guests are welcome to enjoy these areas. Additionally all cottages have their own table and chairs, patios and barbecues.

Fishing is available on site. We have carp in our ponds which weigh around 7/8 pounds. They were brought here as tiddlers 10 years ago and now make very attractive fish, which are fairly easy to catch - as long as it is not too cold! Great for kids. We have fishing tackle freely available. Other venues include River Frome, Orchardleigh, Shearwater, and even the South Coast.

The cottages are set in open countryside on the outskirts of Frome and close to the Somerset border, just 12 miles from the World Heritage City of Bath, famous for its Roman history and hot springs and later as a fashionable Georgian spa.

Driving from Bath follow the A36 (Warminster) to the Trowbridge/Beckington roundabout, with the Texaco garage and Travelodge Hotel. Take the second exit (straight on). If travelling from the M4 through Bradford -on Avon, turn right at the junction in Rode just past the Ruen Thai Restaurant and arrive at the same roundabout. Turn left on the first exit.

At the second roundabout by the farm shop go straight on (A361 second exit) to Frome and Oldford.

If approaching from the south via Warminster follow the A36 to Beckington through Standerwick, and on approaching this same roundabout take the first exit on the A361.

On approaching the third roundabout go straight over on the second exit (B3090) to Frome and Oldford. After entering the 30 mile restriction in Oldford turn left at the next, small, crossroads, sign posted to Standerwick and Berkeley. This is Whitechapel Lane and the cottages are half a mile on the right hand side. The drive is immediately after the main house, The Old Cow Byre.
